I’m back with My Konjac Sponge and other brand which is said to be konjac sponge as well.
I can’t find anything wrong in the details given with the X brand but it feel so different with My Konjac Sponge.

I have 4 items, 2 from My Konjac Sponge and 2 from X brand. 2 items for body usage, 2 for facial in bamboo charcoal type or My Konjac Sponge in Bamboo Charcoal infused and the other one look similar to the other.

The back side and details are somewhat the same, it is a trivia but I know for sure that My Konjac Sponge is a real konjac sponge from a fellow Korean. I’m not sure and clueless about the X brand. I know for sure there are a lot of ‘konjac sponge’ in the market, when I went abroad or looking at cosmetics store there are some other konjac sponge, but the X brand look quite similar than those found in the market, so let’s just test them out.

Let’s open the packaging and see the product.
The one for the body:

Above is the image of both product for the body when dry.
My Konjac Sponge has bigger pores and lighter. X brand konjac sponge is heavier, around 2-3x the weight from My Konjac Sponge. Denser, more curves/waves, and feels firmer than My Konjac Sponge.

Under the sponges is the palm of my hand. When wet, My Konjac Sponge appears to be more transparent than X brand. My Konjac Sponge also absorbed more water than X brand.

When looked X brand have tidier shape than hand made My Konjac Sponge. My Konjac Sponge feels softer on the skin, squishier, and create larger bubbles foam than X brand.
Now let’s see the one for facial usage.

The shape is different, My Konjac Sponge appeared to be more expanded than X brand. But somehow still lighter. Below are the images when the products are dried.

My Konjac Sponge (image above) when dried compared to the when moist. The dried almost lost it shape and wrinkled here and there, hmm, almost twisted as well. While X brand (below), doesn’t loose it’s shape, just become smaller, stiffer and lighter.

And these are the konjacs in action, using a liquid soap to help the visibility of how it work. My Konjac Sponge gives more lathering action and finer foam, while X brand give less. Same goes with the body sponge. I use the facial sponge for demo purpose as the dark-black sponges are more contrast with the white foam.

Bottom line, they are both seems like not a same product even thou with the same name, konjac sponge. One delivers better result than the other. Personally, I like My Konjac Sponge better, the foam it create is more abundant and finer. On the skin the sponge feels softer, especially the one for facial. Maybe my body have a thick skin, so I didn’t find any significant differences when rubbed, but My Konjac Sponge (again) gives more bubbling action than the other.
I can’t say the other one is not real konjac sponge, but I prefer My Konjac Sponge which I’ve been using for months and quite satisfy with the result it delivers. Multifunction, universal and unisex. I use it for daily cleansing with facial foam, to help remove facial mask, when having a fever (as a compress), and other usage as well.
