Hello lovelies,

Indonesian Beauty Blogger March 2013 is officially started today ^__^

Created a look like a dazzling Marilyn and win prizes from The Balm, a cosmetic brand from San Fransisco which recently landed in Indonesia.

-*-

Some of the products used in this tutorial are courtesy of The Balm and will help me creating a look that hopefully as mesmerizing as Ms. Monroe herself.

-*-

Here are the three items, Balms Away, the eye makeup remover, Shady lady, an eye shadow with a whole lotta attitude, and Mary Lou Manizer, a highlighter / luminizer that want to get all the attention she can get.

I’ll share Balms Away review on a next post and two makeups here ^__^

-*-

It’s gonna be an exciting next post ^__–

-*-

Let’s start the step to step guide of me trying to create a glimpse of Marilyn’s iconic look.

Start with a bare face.

-*-

Boi-ing, an industrial strength concealer from Benefit to cover large pores, under eye, fine lines and other imperfection.

-*-

Shiseido Lifting Foundation shade I 00, by fingers, dot a few spots on 5 parts and blend away. Covering all the uneven skin tone and creating a base for the skin. Wait for a good 5 minutes before the next step, so the foundation have time to sets in.

-*-

Followed by a compact powder by Estee Lauder.

-*-

I use a foundation brush for CyberWhite EX Extra Brightening Powder Makeup. Make sure the skin is completely dry and the foundation has set before this powder or it will make some blotchy effect.

-*-

Then a Loose Powder from Teint Miracle series from Lancome, a very beautiful light powder that gives the skin a luminous effect with a mild glistening aura.

-*-

On some part Touche Eclat from Yves Saint Laurent is added, then blend with fingers.

-*-

Anna Sui Eyebrow Color Compact is used for my brow in shade 03. Simple, so easy to use and looks natural.

Don’t forget to tidy up the brows first.

-*-

I use a base for eyeshadow using Kate eye shadow in PU-1 inspired by this look from Marilyn,

-*-

She looks stunningly beautiful.

-*-

Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner for that cat eye look or at least a winged, but I need something more, the lashes.

-*-

D’Eyeko is used, and just happen to be the only lashes I have that able to create a very sexy cat eyed lashes.

Tips of using D’Eyeko that I get from Lizzie, use from the outer side to the inner, and it works!

-*-

A subtle touch of a Cheeky Glow, for that light blushing touch from Maybelline.

-*-

I need a shadow that really perk up the eyes and increase the effect of the sexy lashes, Shady Lady is here.

-*-

Comes in 10 gorgeous shades that’s bold and brave.

-*-

There’s some tiny sparkles, I see they have some shades that’s not available in other cosmetic brands and unique too.
The selling price is Rp.150.000.

-*-

Same goes with Mary Lou Manizer, which I think a must added collection to any beauty pouch. Rp.280.000.

I love this highlighter as it draw attention right through it and exactly where you want the attention to be. Easily blend and watch out, you may in for a spotlight \^0^/

-*-

Then, it’s the lips, I tried making them thin but decided to make it bold and so red and seductive,
Maybelline Red Porcelain, I love this lipstick, like a red leather just landed and rule.

-*-

No Marilyn look would be complete without that famous black dot, right below her left cheek.

-*-

Using the Hyper Sharp Liner again and voila!

I want to go all out with a blonde wig, but try imagining Marilyn in a brunette.

-*-

Using my Philips are a curler, a wave that says, hello, I’m here.

-*-

Get a help from L’Oreal Professionnel Bounce Whip.

Hi everyone,

As I have a multicolored processed hair, treatment is important. Treatments in salons and treatments at home to make sure the hair gain nutrition or at least feels soft and smooth, radiant and tangle free to reduce breakage.

There are many products out there and I’m always looking for the one that either best seller, long time favorite, new items or those with unique features.

Today I picked one from Makarizo, L’Oreal Professionnel and Alfaparf.

Here are the reviews.

Hair Energy with Kiwi Extract for colored hair by Makarizo. Now, who doesn’t know this one, almost any gal locally at least used it once. Been in the distribution zone for years, maybe around 5 years and famous for it’s . . .  smell.

Details from www.makarizo.com

Hair Energy with Kiwi Extract for Rebonded, Colored and Permed Hair

Formulated for hair that has undergone chemical processes like rebonding, perming, coloring and bleaching.Kiwi extract is useful to give hair the nutrition it needs for chemically treated hair.
It also acts as an antioxidant that protects hair.
Kiwi extracts contains Vitamin C, E and Kalium to keep moisture of the hair balanced and leaves hair shiny and soft to the touch.

I know and used on and off over the years and found the product to be quite fun. Fun? Yes, the product doesn’t really repairs the damage on the hair it’s just adding some softness, a low-medium detangling effect and wonderful fruity scent. It’s like conditioner but with a whole lotta fruity perfume added. Doesn’t see nor feel any significant long term effect for my colored processed hair. And if not rinse well, can be quite sticky and the hair will easily goes limp within ours. While other products here are easier to be rinse with normal temp water and doesn’t cause any limps and weight.

Suitable for those with normal to dry hair. And those who are addicted to the scent, I know I do 🙂

In Indonesia it was used like a creambath or when feeling lazy like a hair mask. Use after shampooing, massage them well on hair tresses, leave it on for 15-20 minutes, best with steamer and rinse everything well. I think all the products here can be used the same way.

Proteline, one of the items I’ve know for decades and used to be very famous. Smells weird, like medics. I don’t mean smell bad, just weird. Like a mix between cough syrup and floral cocktail, oh well, you’ll understand once trying it.

It does give the hair smoothness, but not completely easy to comb. Easier, but not 100% tangle free. As the parts that was broken do looks better, thicker and like nourished, coated with added shine. But for my deeply coarse hair, I need something more.

I enjoy the light and fresh weightless feeling afterward.

This product suitable for those with naturally dry hair condition, but wont be satisfying for over processed chemically dry hair.  Mildly processed like colored, permed or just let say, went through 1-2 chemical processed will still able to find happiness with Proteline.

A thick white creamy product that is enough for my medium-long hair and smells comforting and aquatic, a bit manly but still lovely at the same time. Used after shampooing and toweled dry hair. The cream feels really thick but like sticks on the hair strands, instantly the hair feels so soft and smooth. This is my favorite amongst these three. It have a lovely marine scent, does help the hair to manage the dryness, chemically dryness as well, repairs some damage (not completely but it shows some repair action), add shine and vibrant to the colored processed hair.

The hair regain a bit more strength and do seems healthier than before. This is an item that gives the very damaged hair it’s needs, protection, nourishment, detangling action, smoothness, softness, shines and smells great too.

Suitable for lifeless, very dry, brittle, and damaged hair from chemical process.

Finish your look with a touch of sparkle using L’Oréal Professionnel’s Mythic Oil. Apply to dry hair as a finishing touch, this lightweight oil leaves hair feeling nourished and supple with added looking shine.

I love the packaging and has been hearing a lot of praises about the product, how universal it is and useful as well.

Can be use for any hair type. Men or Women. Just make sure to never put it on the scalp, the product is meant for hair strands.

I pumped it once and this lightweight oil burst in delightful scent. Rich, nutty and luxurious. I used it after towel-dried my hair and before blow drying. Unlike other serum which can be heavy or even greasy the Mythic Oil provide shines without the grease, radiant hair without being limp, and gloss without losing it’s style.

My colored hair seems healthier, supple and still fluffy but in order as it helps lessen frizzy hairs.

Sold in Indonesia for Rp.175.000

Morning!!! (or just pretend it was morning the moment you read this post XD)
My hair is a mess without any help, it usually goes everywhere it pleases without consulting with me. So I need help and L’Oreal Professionnel got a bunch of stuffs that’s so fun to be used and looks ultra cute as well.
Here is Cosmo Spritzer.
A purple ball with ehm, kinda like a giant nipple on top.
Here is a bit more information from http://www.lorealplayball-site.com

My review?

I love the packaging haha! The purple ball reminds me of a Christmas decoration hanging from a fully decorated tree and the spritzer is easy to use. Whoever first come up with an idea of hair product should be in spray is genius. Less mess.

Now the scent is kinda like a perfume, alive and hip, a bit sweet and attitude. The liquid is a bid sticky to the hand and it helps anti-frizz-ing the hair by make ’em hardened like a hair spray, well, it is somewhat like extra strong holder for the hair. It keep the hair frizz-free and made up, so if you’re looking for a natural movement and tangle free hair as well, hmm this may not be the one for you. Somehow my hair become a bit sticky and tangled a bit right after spraying, so please do not used them on dry hair, it would be worst. Maybe I need to practice using it as well haha ^0^ . . .or maybe due to the dry hair I have from the coloring and straightening.

Perfect for indoor usage, it help ‘set’ the hair and behave, but for outdoor, especially when it is windy and the hair was untied, it would be messy and stiff. Not easy to fix it up.

Last week I went for a personalized hair treatment in L’Oreal Professionnel Salon Instutite called Shinjuku Premium Salon in Kuningan City Mall. In here you get to have a professional hair care treatment that uniquely yours. No matter what your scalp and hair condition is, they will give you the correct serum shampoo, conditioner and mask accordingly. So yes, it can be a mix and match from different types but it’s all in the L’Oreal Professionnel series. Innovation and professionalism.

Shinjuku Premium Salon is completed with the Color Bar, treatment room and other facilities for customers where they can enjoy a full service with L’Oreal Professionnel products. I’m going to try mine today.

Hmm, which of the range would be suitable for me ya?

I have oily scalp and dry colored hair strands. And I think my hair also needs some boost of strength plus hydration.

Without being unsure the staff immediately do the diagnose on my scalp.

Ugh, oily scalp indeed. Then he checked the hair strands condition which need repairs.

The process is soon be done with care and around 90 minutes, it’s all done. Next time you can get a personalized treatment from scalp to the ends of your hair too, and the massages plus relaxing ambiance, drinks on the house. Ooh! You’ll love the pampering for sure!

And ta da! Here’s my result 🙂 They generously pampered my hair until it’s shining happily.
The scalp is rejuvenated, less oil and feels like they can breathe again, the mask hydrated my hairs where they look moist and glowing, it was a bliss.

The curls and style? It’s on the house! So come to Shinjuku Premium Hair Salon and until June 2012 when mentioning my name: Carnellin, you’ll get 50% off for any service done in the salon. And one of the signature key of the salon is the owner himself, Mr. Audid, he is famous for giving customer a unique look that suitable for each individual handcraftedly ^^ He’ll consult with you and get that perfect look just for you.

Check out his schedule and see you there!

And here’s my review:

The first thing I’ve noticed is the scent which is somewhat like Liss Ultime. Then the texture of the 3 items I have at home. The shampoo is like a cream gel which is liquid but not so runny. Golden and it is a delight when touched. Lathered first on the palm before reaching the wet hair. Then work it out by gently massaging the scalp and hair.

My dyed hair is indeed dry and I guess it affected the foaming process, so there are lather and foam all right but not abundantly, I even use it 3 times to check on the lathering property. My scalp is normally oily as well so usually I’m worried when using products for damage hair since they will moisturized the hair and affected the scalp as well.

So far so good my scalp still feel clean and fresh but I still need to wash my hair once a day (like usual). I like the detangling and soft effect from the shampoo, but it is not soft enough for me as a final result, that’s why I proceeded with the mask.

The mask is indeed the thickest of them all. Like a dense cream and I must say, for my hair one sachet is not enough, I need more. I use it start from the ends and halfway through the hair avoiding the scalp by more than 5cm. Then instead of 2-3 minutes, I leave it on for 15 minutes while continue blogging >.< heehe.

The scent of the mask also so lovely and fragrant, must try it okay 🙂

Result from the mask is a soft smooth hair that feels far from being dry and processed. Wow, I’m impressed, with one application I can see the difference and touch the difference as well. The hair feels thicker.

Next is the serum, before blow drying my hair, I pump twice and this runny serum smells really like Liss Ultime. It added the shine and softness as well. A complete set of Absolut Repair will definitely change your chemically processed hair into a flowing tresses of gorgeousness.

Hi all \^0^/

Not a day goes by without we’re doing something to our hair. Touching, cleaning, caring and styling. While maybe many are paying attention on styling, I am always about caring and cleaning 🙂 It’s like I like them looking naturally gorgeous. I remember like when I found a bottle of a very good olive oil, instead of cooking with it, I put it on my hair 30 minute-1 hour before showering. Then almost daily put a mask on when my hair is really dry due to hair colorant and many other chemical process, it’s like a battle against breakage and dryness.

The thing is, most of us feels and actually do looks better when styling, perming, rebonding, or coloring involved. That’s why taking care of our hair is become a normality in daily regime.

Thanks to L’Oreal Professionnel in developing more on caring side we have Vitamino Color. I know it’s not new and it’s not the first time for me using them but it’s the first time I’m writing for them. So here goes,

A bit information from vitaminocolor.blogspot.com:

Now, let’s do a review on the products. The shampoo is the most liquid above all three, follow by the mask which like a gel and the conditioner is the thickest. Another surprise that I get is when using the conditioner it took longer to leave it than the mask. The mask need like a minute to show instant result while the conditioner need longer like 2-3 minutes. I know it’s not like an hour to two, but still.

The shampoo is used like normal other shampoo, wet your hair and lathered the shampoo on your hands first before applying to your hair. Then for the conditioner, after shampooing, towel dry the hair, put the conditioner on the hair strands away from the scalp, comb it in and wait for 2 minutes before rinsing.

Now for the mask, let me share something interesting, after shampooing, towel dry the hair and put spread the mask evenly, avoiding the scalp area. Then I’m putting on this cap I get from Daisho (2$ each)

The cap actually did help the mask t o work better, my hair become shinier and smoother.

Overall result:

The shampoo help clean the hair but not drying it, so any colored hair will be happy using this shampoo. My scalp is a bit oily so within 24 hours I need another cleaning process.

The conditioner, a perfect solution for daily problem, help untangle, protecting, and keep the hair less looking dry. It does increase the shine and colors but not as much as the mask.

The mask, is like wow and and a must have for every colored hair. The gel texture is lovely and pink, and gooey, haha! Every toiletries that’s gooey it’s like a magnet to me.

And all three have this sweet fruity floral scent that I really like and last for hours. You’ll love caring your colored hair with Vitamino Color by L’Oreal Professionnel.

Last but not least, this is my after look using Vitamino Color. Soft and smooth hair ^__^

Details given:
Age Densiforce Masque
L’Oréal Professionnel Série Expert
Density enhancing masque
This helps to reinforce your hair structure for natural volume and shine. It has a light creamy texture with a delicate golden shimmer.
Directions/ How to use :
Apply to shampooed, towel-dried hair. Allow masque to work for 1 minute, then rinse. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately.

The soft faintly floral scent is delicate and a bit musky too. Yet their strong point is definitely not in the scent, also not as their weakest point, which is the runny-ness. I wish it would be more creamy since it is on a pot after all. But the effect is lovely. I like how it gives my hair moisture yet the volume it deserve. It’s not exactly va va voom, but definitely lift something up there better than other mask that only provide moisture and protection.
Each hair feels thicker and healthier too with just a minute or so during application. I did use a shower cap to hold them while I cleanse my body and face. So I did leave ’em a bit longer than a minute.

This is my hair after using this mask. Like there’s a soft glow covering my hair. Definitely worth a try for a mask that shine and a bit of more volume ^___^

Sensory System 2: Which is a creambath cream corresponding with scalp concentrate. Use as you do creambath, on clean shampooed hair (dry with towel only), massage the cream in and leave them for 10-15 minutes with warm towel (or my way, with plastic shower cap), rinse thoroughly and voila! A smooth hair afterwards.

You can read them easily on the packaging of how to use, what I like about it is the fact that the product is made in and invent in Indonesia. Yes, creambath is from Indonesia. I even know that some foreigners from abroad come to Indonesia just to have a creambath. Some beauty saloon already try to have these service abroad with a whooping high price 10x compared to in Indonesia, so L’Oreal Professionnel perfected the cream to enhance the original method for a way better result.

The cream is thick like any other creambath cream but have a silkier and smoother texture. The scent is like a fresh musk with a powdery touch. A floral and delicate too. I think it’s a sign of a sophisticated product.

I recommend to do the hair spa once a week for a dry and damaged hair while if you have combination condition (oily scalp and dry ends) avoid using the product on the scalp. Some staff on the beauty saloon also recommend washing the hair with shampoo afterwards instead of rinsing it only. I don’t agree. Just simply avoid using the product near the scalp would be okay. Since you will throw away the nourishment as well.

Will I use it again? Definitely, I really like pampering my hair and the scent is lovely too.

Details from lorealprofessionnel.co.uk:

Up to 24-hour frizz tamer, this soft cream controls and smoothes frizzy, rebellious hair, with a natural-looking shine.

Spread a small amount evenly throughout towel-dried hair and blow-dry or leave to dry naturally.

After applying with hands throughout lengths and ends of towel-dried hair, use a brush to give a more even distribution.

a smoothing gel cream that gives a light hold on the hair whilst giving them a 24h anti-humidity.

The gel cream is a light milky cream that smell like a sweet citrus but not refreshing enough, it’s like lemonade. Not my favorite scent but fret not it will be gone in the next 10 minutes after application. The hair become silkier and glows on the reflection of light. There are some residue which is slippery left on my palm, but on the hair it’s okay, not as slippery as in the palm.

The anti-humidity doesn’t give me a volume, just a smooth light control that I think suitable for daily use and to those having a frizz-full hair will found some comfort over their unruly hair.

Big no-no: Application near your root, only use it from the mid length of your hair all the way to the end.
