Hello again,

back with some details of the trip like mentioned in my previous post (HERE). I’ve talked about the trip from my beauty point of view and now move on to a more general topic which is travel and food heehee. I love the food there, fresher and higher in quality.

But, first, here is my master plan and for maps, they can be downloaded, printed out or get from major station in Japan.

Day 1

I printed everything and when I arrived in Osaka, since the details are pretty much planned, except the weather, so do check it on everyday 🙂 I’m ready! Excitement and happy thoughts are running wild haha!

Budget wise? Not everything here is expensive, in fact if you eat like local and buy things like local, a lot of their produce are cheaper in terms of same price but excellent quality. Yes, the Japanese have a better quality in life too. Envy much?!

The first meal I bought is curry rice for 480 Yen. 1 Yen is around Rp.120, so do the math if you’re curious ^___–

First day in Osaka I went to Rinku and it was wonderful, everything is wonderful, I’m in the middle of sleepiness and the earth feels wobbly from the night flight but I have to grab my chances and explore.

Rinku is big and the sale is ON so it’s mad alright. Every clothing that’s just reach Indonesia was already on sale here since their about to change season into autumn. Imagine GAP 70% off, Anna Sui 80% off, Coach 50% off, and many many ehm many more. I found this cute boutique where everything below 2000 Yen. Everything inside the store is trendy and beautiful, their fabric are soft to the touch and comfortable. I wanna go there again now . . .

Then I ate the tastiest soba ever. Chewy and delicious. Like a freshly made soba.

Japanese like to keep their food simple and let the original taste comes in the most fragrant way. And hmm, okay I’m not a food blogger, let me explain these from a beauty blogger point of view. They serve fresh ingredients with service from the heart. 

Day 2.

Some, I really like and familiar, still in Japan it taste 100% better than even pricey restaurant in Indo.

But still I found a few, not so good, like this instant soba at another restaurant. The dried soba taste like soft rubber when cooked. The broth is alright but the soba that aren’t freshly made is far from good.

This is udon at a place near my hotel, they have fried octopus there, very very good and tasty!! I wish in Indonesia we have more octopus than just takoyaki.

The broth is simple yet exquisite.

Then we go to Kaiyukan hehe. Details here: it was fabulous, think beyond the local seaworld, this is world class. I found almost every sea creatures I know and more haha. There are so many varieties of jellyfish, prawns, fishes, and other sea creatures. Amazing!

I thought I’d be bored to death here, I’m not! Look at those giant crabs, they are bigger than human head. Scary!

This is the Tempozan, near Kaiyukan entrance. This is a food theme park, free entrance and found local food from the old days.

We stay at Kaiyukan until around 2 PM from around 10 AM and move on to Spa World. Details here:

It offers onsen from around the world. Many selections of spa are there from Asian to European. Men and women are separated based on floors, yes, the building are high and huge. We can relax and sleep there, it was a true relaxation place. We can soak all day long and no worries, all the amenities are free to be used, from hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner to moisturizer and so on. Towels are everywhere and they are really clean. Hungry? Use on the clothes provided according to your size and move on to another floor to get some meals. Old and young we all can enjoy 🙂

Day 3.

Universal Studio!

I wont give you any pictures of the usual Universal Studio that you’ve probably know, I meant come on, just search the images through google heehee. Let me give you images of something new. 
They have a new area open and it’s Sanrio!! Hello Kitty fans, come here, I’m in her place.

Dressed in Hello Kitty bow, there’s tons ow bows there and Hello Kitty’s in many designs.

And inside, you can take pictures with Hello Kitty herself 😀

Aside from Sanrio,
a lot of the rides here are awesome, you have to try the Hollywood Dream, fantastic!

Still, I prefer Tokyo Disneyland thou’ haha the rides are more enjoyable, like Spiderman here is dizzy and I dislike the movement, and the Back to The Future need some upgrading on the video, it’s too old. I went to Universal Studio in Los Angeles 18 years ago, it was cool back then but now, I want HD! The rest, especially for the kids, it was wonderful.

Don’t forget to check out the stuffs they sell, kawaii! Look at this cookie monster hat, very funny!

Right outside Universal Studio we get some snacks. It was 9.30 PM and after adrenaline rush we want some munchies, please.

From Pancake to Takoyaki Museum, you hardly missed it. Must try too, the lines can be long but unless you’ve stay there in Osaka as in live there, use your chance and give it a go.

We get ours in multiple flavors.

Small yet delicious. Do not compare them with the one sold in Indonesia, or anywhere else but here, it’s like totally different. The ingredients are in higher quality and the taste is so yummy.

Day 4

It’s raining, so we switch our schedule and visit the malls right in front of our hotel. Umeda is surrounded with high end malls and they got almost everything here.

This is where we get our breakfast and packed our lunches too. Varieties of fresh seafood, cooked delicacies, sushi, tempura, and everything you can imagine from a Japanese food, and still they have a section of dessert separated. The entire hall for food!

These are the local’s specialties, kushi kushi. Deep fried food on a stick. Served with some sauce and irresistible. Who doesn’t like deep fried food?

After the rain stop and apparently there’s a train problem, delays for more than an hour, they have announced it but we couldn’t understand why since the announcement is in Japanese language.

The closest place we can reach is Namba by private line instead of JR. Namba is a shopping district where you can found many many many shops from local brand to international. Uniqlo, Zara, Kiehl’s, they are there!

I don’t know why I kept giving you pictures about food, oh yes, they are damn good haha, I dislike raw egg here in Indonesia, but love it here. Dunno why?!

If you happen to visit Osaka and in Namba area, near Dotombori, where you see Glico man, in the neighborhood you’ll found there restaurant with lines in front. They sell takoyaki, okonomiyaki and yakisoba. Try the yakisoba, it’s soo good, all of us agrees on that!

Day 5


A beautiful place where Mt.Rokko is located.

First . . . let’s eat XD

A local food somewhat like sukiyaki and raw egg (again, the raw egg here are yummy) then off we went to Mt.Rokko.

The trip was really fun and easy, take the train to Sannomiya from Osaka. There’s some train with different time table and price. just choose the one closer to you and it should be fine, there’s not much of a difference except which station they stops.

The goal is reach the top and with cable car, we can, hooray! No need hiking or sweats like a pig, just sit down and enjoy the cool, clean, mountain air.

After 2-3 hours there, we went to China Town in Motomachi and have a nice dinner.

Day 6

Oh nooo the end almost near, really, that’s what I feel back then, I love Japan. I wanna stay . . .


You’ve know the temples, it’s like the minute I say Kyoto most of the people imagine the beautiful Geisha, Kimonos, and shrine. But do you know Kyoto is very famous with local snacks? As in sweet titbits?

This is one of the trademark. Inside is a sweet jelly like thingy and outside the crisp thin layer decorated with seasonal flowers.

We went to Nishiki Market and have a wonderful time there, it’s just a big block where you walk inside, somewhat like Pasar Baru but it’s all Japanese haha! We spend 3-4 hours there, every shop, stall, store is different and unique. We bought so many things, from gifts to relatives, snacks, food and ice cream too. Soya ice cream!

Day 7.

Osaka Castle and Dotombori again haha! We can get enough there’s so many store to explore and one is famous for the tourist for having everything and at a bargain price too.

This is the miniature of Osaka Castle, it is a grande place after all.

Let me remind you that it’s a long walk to go into the castle, so use your favorite shoes/sandals that’s easy on the feet 🙂

I’m almost there, it’s right by the entrance, ooh! Going here in Spring or Autumn or maybe winter will be a lot better, not hot.

There it is!!! Beautiful. Even though most of the castle is not the original one anymore, still inside you can learn the history about Summer War, how come the castle got burned, again and again, and the original design and what is it for.

After going down and walk around, we found this perfect spot for taking picture. Zen all over!

Then, let’s go to Dotombori, Namba.

There are many turns in Namba so you’ll easily missed some turns and it’s a different street already, ask around, they usually kind enough to help. Ask nicely and smile 🙂 You’ll get answered. This is one of the stall we went.

And no way we would missed the opportunity eating sushi here in Japan, fresh and the variety is more than any Japanese restaurant in Indonesia. Yums!

Day 8.

Going home.

The day we’ve been avoiding is here … so sad. But we’ll definitely come again and eat more delicious food in Japan, don’t forget to try on some curry, takoyaki (octopus ball), okonomiyaki, kushi kushi, ramen, soba, yakisoba, and many more.

Last tips:

Buy your flight when the bargain is there, discount, sale price, promo, etc. Take your time.
In booking a hotel, with a slight differences if the pricier one gives you better access everywhere, get that one, it saves you a lot of time and transportation money too.
Google everything you need, from how to get there, famous and must visit places, and so on
If you can’t bear the fuss, join traveling agencies but only a reputable one for an assurance of comforts and safety.
In Japan, most restaurants and food stalls gives free water to drink, it would save you some money.
Some medicine are not widely and openly sold there without prescription, so if you have certain medical condition, bring your own medicine.
Everywhere you go try to learn a bit on local language, you’ll be appreciated and they response to your need of help way better that insisting your own language. English is a must-able language.


Boul Mich

As an opener after my trip to Japan, yes, I’ve been in Tokyo last week and stay in Shinagawa area, let me give you something sweet first, I will also keep on posting about my trip there and some details needed if you wanna go there as well. So let’s begin with Boul Mich. Boul Mich is patisserie from France, the selection of desserts is just superb and 5 star class. But one particular item did caught my eyes.

Looks like big colorful sugar cubes, but somehow seen spongy as well. I bought a couple of them since I just can’t resist the color. Little that I know my friend whose been staying in Japan later on told me it was marshmallow. But the taste is beyond any marshmallow.

You can choose many different flavors accordingly, since I know nothing about their language, I choose based on color that interest me most, blue, pink and purple, all in pastel.

The blue one is tangy, gooey and spongy in the same time, it taste refreshing and so good. You feels like you drink a juice that made out of grapefruit (perhaps?) and unlike marshmallow that sweet and feels like eating a cloud, this one is like a mixed of 20% jelly. Must try! My hubby whose not a sweet tooth owner loves it as well.

The Purple one is refreshing as well in a sense of berry feeling. Sweet but not as sweet as the pink one. The pink one is strawberry, perfect for a girl who likes her things sweet as sweets can be.

Whenever possible, try ’em!

I’m not officially involved in Buka Bareng Blogger in Katsusei, but my sis is. So this review is just about the dessert, since my sis called me up at that time and ask me to pick her up. I was in fact at Pacific Place for Bobbi Brown opening, the stuff there are gorgeous, unfortunately not the staff I’m talking with. I ask her regarding Bobbi Brown’s skincare range and what is it all about and she kept repeating, “You can read by yourself on the packaging!” which just say Hydrating Face Cream, Algae Extract and Kukui Nut Oil, I’m not a botanist, how come she expect me to understand just by reading it? What does it do to a face? The effect? How to properly used it? Etc!! Really not cool!
Okay, back to Katsusei, so when I’m arrived there apparently the event haven’t finished, but I just went inside and sit quietly next to my sis.
I see there are so many leftovers, my sis told me that Katsusei proportion is very big, so you’ve been warned when you step in there, ladies ^____^ huge meals!
Each table is equipped with many different sauce you can mix on your own. Very cute packaging.
And it’s dessert time! I just filling in some vacancy and the waiter just filled me in with the desserts. Wow! They look gorgeous. My tummy is actually full, I have my dinner at Pacific Place and still kinda upset thank to that awful staff at that beauty store (yes, a bit grudges).

But that mango pudding is just, oh la la, feels so good and I don’t know is it because of the sugar rushing in or just how the melt sweetly in my mouth, my temper is going down too. The mango feels so fresh, cool, and the cream on top is another level of fruit and cream in one. This dessert is perfect for those who are looking for a fruity sweet dessert that have the right amount of sweetness in it. Sorry, the pic look so dark, the lighting at Katsusei is pretty dim.
Then come the matcha ice cream, I’ve been to many countries and tries many different matcha ice cream, still . . .
it can won me over. Perfect for those whose not a big fan or thick matcha, not too sweet and chilled me on the spot.
Let’s just say, it won me over ^______^

Pancake Mix Haan

I bought it days ago at Hypermart and from my previous Pancake batter mix (Korean? Japanese one? Really couldn’t remember) I thought it’s okay but this one is fluffier. My previous one is “just add water” kind, while Haan is “Add egg and water + oil”.

Beside pancake this batter can also be made into waffle or crepes you just need to adjust several ingredients in it. It’s all easy, if I can do it, you should too . . . ^___^ dummy proof!

Now for the pancake, just click for a details to see it bigger. Leave the batter for 10 minutes for me is really important since it help the batter to “grow” first and these tiny bubbles that inside them will make the pancake fluffier and easier to cooked thoroughly all the way inside.

Now, leave the pan medium to low heat and it cook really fast. In my other batter (using different brand) I can easily flip them over but with Haan, you have to flip to the other side while they are still so soft. It will be a bit messy, if you wait for it to be completely “loose” you’ll get this burn mark, oh and it’s a big no-no to double cook one side, the moment they are done, they’re done alright. It easily burnt too. I’ve warned you.

And if you do fine and follows my tips, you’ll get a fluffy pancake that are so soft and you’ll love how soft they are.  1 packaging means about 5 normal size pancakes while I made mini one, since for me it’s easier to flip and thoroughly cooked.


Stack ’em with some Nutella inside put inside a cling bag and I’m ready to go. I also can make a sausage inside and roll, or put the sausage inside the batter and toll it on a pan. Many many things can be done with these.

May fave would be add some fresh veggies, eggs, tomatoes and make a sandwich out of them. Yums!

Health tips: Add some oats in the batter, you can grind the oat first or just put them in, the ‘bite’ they are adding is sublime!

They offered buffet for all you can eat and drink at Rp.250.000 for dinner/adult, but until September 2011, they are having promotion, Adult Rp.149.000++ and Children Rp. 85.000 ++ (dinner), so don’t missed out. They have awesome menu that will definitely gives you more variety than your tummy can hold. From fresh sashimi, teppanyaki to dream dessert that. Not a fan of a buffet? No worries, they also serves Ala Carte. Drinks? From tea to fresh juice and don’t forget the manager says their milkshake is a must try, slurp!!

Going inside the Restaurant you will be greeted by a different atmosphere . . . am I still in Indonesia?

No, I must be in Japan. I love how they create the whole dining experience here, it’s like you are entering another level of human satisfaction where eating is no longer a basic need but it’s an adventure to another world with cuisine.

Meanwhile, waiting for the whole team to be completed, I took some pics with the bloggers. In front of me Tairyo have prepared a setting worthy of a royalty. With golden utensils holder and china, I can really say, they are so ready for the guest, this is a proper way of a restaurant to say “Hello” to the customer.
The bloggers are gathering up, slowly but sure the seats are filling, some are chatting, some are starting to “open” (since this is a Fasting Month for the Moslem), some are learning the menus, and some are busy taking pictures, we are bloggers thou’ and sometime a picture means a thousand words.
And I see a lovely friendly face from Fimela.Com. Ms. Nuniek herself is here. Beside her there’s also representatives from,, and of course Grand Indonesia with Tairyo too. 
The first meal that comes out after the drinks (sweet tea and our choice) is Ta’Jil, which is a very sweet Red Bean Soup (more like a dessert) with 2 mochi balls which I think is perfect for any palate after a whole day fasting. A spoon or two is enough since the whole banquet is waiting.
Then here come the Prawn Salad with Special Tairyo Sauce, the prawns are juicy and just the right bounce in it and it’s really a contrast to the crunch of the vegetables and the dressing is acidicly addictive. Perfect as an appetizer.

And crunch! The outer layer is so crispy but the prawn juice inside is so delicious and moist. Some restaurant I know even dare to serve instant prawn cutlet, but in Tairyo, they give you the best from the beginning to the end. I can see happy moments are coming. If they already gives their best right from the beginning, their main course will be superb!

And one of the chef is starting, he is preparing a Norwegian Salmon, FRESH Norwegian Salmon as a Sashimi and we all know, it got to be fresh.
He is carefully cut the Salmon pieces by pieces with a special knife from Japan (Wooaaaa). Skill and Technique in cutting a salmon plus the right tool is indeed needed.

Careful, we don’t want a bone, and each single one is removed.
The best part from a salmon is the belly, yum!
They are ready for a final cut, do you know a 5 KG Salmon is for 50 Sashimi servings?!
As everything is going on the guest are never left doing nothing and seeing nothing, Chef. Happy is preparing something for us on the teppanyaki table. Yes, his that is his real name and soon you’ll find out why that name is suitable for him.

In a jiffy shitake mushroom, egg tofu, onion and pumpkin are served. These are something to begin the world of teppan to us. Definition of Teppan-yaki from

Teppanyaki (鉄板焼き teppan-yaki?) is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan (鉄板), which means iron plate, and yaki (焼き), which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. In Japan, teppanyaki refers to dishes cooked using an iron plate, including steak, shrimp, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and monjayaki.
Ah, yes, my Salmon Sashimi, a very healthy dish that rich in nutrients and low in calories. Salmon are also known to have high contain of a fat that good for you, what’s that? You already knew? Than, why don’t you eat some?!
Yes, most of normal people, like me ¯\(°_o)/¯ , not really a fan of eating raw fish or in this case salmon, but I do find Tairyo’s Salmon to be the least fishy and I bear with it. I can eat it  ⊙0⊙  amazing! And if you add some ginger pickles with the salmon, it add another dimension of consuming the raw salmon, their become a perfect match made in heaven.

The salmon are juicy, moist, delicate and tender while the pickle is sweet and tangy plus the texture is the opposite of the salmon. LOVE it! I found a new way of eating the raw salmon. Tairyo’s ginger pickles are a delight. Fresh, sweet, add a warm sensation in the end and a kick of a zing-iness. Aahhh, another little touch that make differences.

And here comes the meat, Roarr! The carnivore in me is officially awaken, the smell is soooooo divine.  While looking at the US Flank Bone being grilled, I was looking at Chef. Happy and how he cook the food, he put so much care in his work and it’s a wonderful scene.
And my Grilled US Flank Bone is ready! With a fork I can easily detach the meat, they are melting in my mouth, all these time I’m watching a cooking show or a food guide where they say the meat melt in the mouth and can’t never understand what they meant . . . until now. The meat is melting in my mouth and they are so goooooood.  {{{(>_<)}}}
Then another favorite dish by a lot of female present is a Mushroom (Enoki) Beef Roll, the beef is again so tender and the mushroom is lovely and fresh. Another round, please! From the meat to the mushroom with sauce that you already feels happy to eat it with a bowl of warm rice, this dish is yummy with a capital Y.
Then it’s cod fish time with Tairyo’s Sauce which is miso paste, it is salty, but you’ll love the sensation going on with the thick white meaty fish . . . I crave some more now, as I’m writing it.
Now, it’s time for some aphrodisiac! Fresh Oyster! If it ain’t fresh don’t eat it and Tairyo is serving them fresh!
See! Look at Chef.Happy expression, he’s like cooking for his children, lot’s of love and tender care, that’s why all the meals from him taste Oh-So-Good! Tairyo have eyes for talented and dedicated chefs.
Burn baby burn, this is how Oysters are cooked here.
And they taste juicy! Fresh, salty, a bit hot and lovely!
After a set of oysters which is from the sea and rich in minerals now we are given French Lamb Chop that so greasy and oh my, the gorgeous fat that have a crunch on the outer layer and soft inside is just a must try! Yes, they are fat, it shows a high quality lamb that are soft and juicy.

Boiled Ox Tongue with Red Wine Sauce is ready . . . without any hesitation and full trust to the chef (he did gives me undoubtedly delicious foods all along) I try it and  . . . they are not bad, not bad at all. They are sweet and all the spices and ingredients put there was able to remove the ‘smell’ that usually avoided by many. Incredible!

At this stage my stomach is almost full and usually anything taste the same and I thought there couldn’t surprise me no more . . .
I was wrong! Medium well  Sliced High Rib Beefsteak makes my stomach feels empty and hungry again, tender, juicy, meaty and smooth. I want some more!

Then it’s fried rice, at this stage? Yes! This is also one of the Japanese custom, they ate the whole dish then the rice last.

My Fried Rice with Garlic is perfectly seasoned and tiny cubes of meats with veggie is delightful. I’m happy, truly happy.

Wait, they are not done yet, the Grilled Chicken Steak with Garlic Sauce is so juicy, none of us ever eat a chicken this good, we all surprise how an everyday household ingredients can turned into something that extraordinary, it’s like your chicken satay meat dream come true, roasted and grilled outside, well cooked and juicy inside and all the flavors are absorbed in the chicken.

Last of the meat and DEFINITELY not the least is Great Fishing Cold Steak that are sublimed!

Love it to the max and really a complement to all the meals here. The cubed steak is juicy and yum yum yum yum ♥‿♥

You think all the meals here are too tiny? Look at some of my leftover? Their portion are huge! I see many regulars here and they seem really enjoy the meals that worth bargain for. For the price you pay you get high quality ingredients that are fresh, cooked with special care, with fast and attentive services from the staff, abundant portion, and an ambiance like no other. When you come here alone, the staff and chef are friendly and they’ll chat with you during the whole dining experience, if you come with your love ones they do have space for just the two of you, buddies? Families? It’s an experience worth sharing for and you’ll love it more and become a part of your group.

After all the meat the bloggers are having some fun with games, the picture belong to Mr.Adhi (Grand Indonesia) since I’m taking part in making a simple sushi with Japanese cucumber (Zucchini) inside. The special Japanese rice well cooked mixed with Japanese vinegar, sugar and salt, Nori, and Zucchini sticks. Roll it all together using the sushi making bamboo and off you go. Some tips including wet your hands before touching the rice, roll it firmly in square shape, before cutting dip your knife using water.


Then after the games is over it’s Banana Flambe time! What’s that, it’s basically a banana tempura cooked with ice cream on top, simple isn’t it? Let’s see . . .

Woaaaa!!! Look at those fire! This is the highlight of the dessert! Feels like I’m having a camp night with bunch of my friends and at the last night after a journey being together in harmony we have make a fire and reflects all the wonderful moments we’ve shared together, and it’s feels like it now.

And the Banana Flambe? Taste oh-so-good! The crisp of the skin with how sweet the banana and how cold and soft the ice cream is, just like a multicolor firework of sensation in our mouth. Delicious!! Everyone is indulging the dessert with none left on their plate . . . it tells about how good it is.

And it’s a wrapped y’all! Thank you so much for the excellent dining experience and everything you put us through, the informational workshop, games, meet and greet and all within is just a perfect 10 and worth sharing for.

Red Tomato Plaza Indonesia

Last night I dine at Red Tomato Plaza Indonesia, it was 10PM plus and they are about to closed but the staffs spotless service is still so friendly and warm. They are famous for their thin crust hand tossed pizza but last night I need a supper not a full course dinner.

After went for their menu I ordered an Italian vegetable soup and mini potatoes with sour cream.

We love the ambiance and all those tomatoes in the air, a definitely winner for a tomato lover ^__^. This lycopene packed of veggie is actually very good not just for all (human kind) but specially for men. Just google it okay, I’m not gonna ruin one’s appetite, the part that I’m talking about is about the same as tomato ^___-

The Italian veggie soup in tomato is here. Love the exact amount of sourness and pepper on it. It’s a perfect comfort food at night. It’s not heavy but still gives my tummy a bit of a kick and suits my palette. It’s definitely made with care, yums! Sniffles, poor appetite or just need some warmth, try this one, you’ll feel better in a jiffy.
These mini potatoes are a delight too. One complain is the mini bacons that hardly there, and I need some ketchup to finished up, I’m like a total ketchup in everything, I even add ketchup on my instant noodle with cheese.

Those two meals are wonderful, I’ll definitely keep this place in mind whenever I’m around and I’ll taste your pizza and pasta too.

When dining in, believe it or not ambiance take another level of our expectation for the food, the taste and what they’ll bring. So, it’s all about a whole experience and this is what I have at a restaurant I’m about to share.

The menu is all about western meals from pasta to pancakes . . .
The place is so cozy, love all the details they put in and near my seats there’s aromatherapy that reminds me of lovely laces, love it!
I’m confused with all the toppings they can offer, so I order the platter which comes in many varieties, I love the mango puree, chocolate and apple with cinnamon, yums!
But still our eyes are caught in this fresh spaghetti which is a must try! They are fresh herbs with diced carrots and cubes of chicken, a few actually but the greens are lovely.

I’ll definitely come back here again and try their steaks!

On Saturday my family and I visited Bakerzin Plaza Senayan and we are greeted with their new menus which is for Ramadhan month. From meals to desserts and collections of snacks with or without beverage.
Then it’s time for me to choose the meals we would like to eat, good news for my husband is he is all about Indonesian food, he’s not a big fan of western meals, so when local cuisines comes around, he’s definitely up for it.
After placing our orders which is hot tea, fruits flavored tea which is an absolute delight in a hot days like these, summer salad, chicken with peanut sauce, and pepes dory fish. We waiter around 10 minutes and the drinks comes in a jiffy.

I can say you will never go wrong choosing any of their salad here, I always love the presentation and . . .

how scrumptiously fresh they are. Love the sweet balsamic dressing, one of the must try items followed by their pear salad and Caesar salad. You can easily top up with any protein available, and oh yes, salmon lover, they have salmon salad for you . . . maybe someday they will add ceviche on the menu, hopefully ^_^
My pepes dory fish is presented, love the abundant fresh veggies on the side and cube tomatoes on the fish. But I think I need more kick in the flavoring, I’m a typical Indonesian that love flavor, the good news thou, kids can dive in too since they are not hot.
The fish is fresh and not a bone found in it, which means a pleasant meal all over, the rice could be more soft and succulent, it’s a bit dry for us. If let say they add sauce or dressings, this meal would be a winner.
And this is my husband’s chicken in peanut sauce. The chicken is so tender and picky eater can enjoy this meal without having a fuss since you can divide everything using the pressure with a spoon. Not spicy at all, so the meal is suitable for tender palate and kids too.

If these meals is not your taste? Don’t worry, Bakerzin still have their regular meals as always, yums!

Mr.Curry Grand Indonesia

On Saturday, I went to Mr.Curry Grand Indonesia after drooling over their newest promotion ad in front of the elevator on the way to buy Harry Potter last movie. They have Omurice. A warm rice mixed with either butter or tomato, yums! They look so delicious and rich in flavor.
With enough toppings and sauce to choose from this meal is something that worth trying for. We try the one with salmon and ikura, the rice? Tomato ^_^
Waiting here is pleasant, the atmosphere is fun, many people are enjoying the meals with their families and friends. When the food is great, so does the conversation.
Not long after ordering the food, here come the food, they are served warm (not hot), with a small bowl of salad. Our hot tea (breakfast) is served before the meal is presented. The presentation is lovely, tomato rice is hidden under a perfect omelet and the delicious white creamy sauce with salmon and spinach. The portion for me is big enough for 2 people ladies.

Yet, we still ordering a dessert, a small dorayaki with green tea cream worth Rp.12.000. We couldn’t resist their dessert yet know our stomach have a limit. The mango puree is fresh and give a bit of zing thanks to the sweet and sour fruit.

The pic above show their generous portion where the rice are solid under those yummy omelet, and the ikura (salmon eggs) taste fresh too. Would I come back here again? Definitely yes, thanks to their delicious meals, desserts, drinks and friendly staffs. Two thumbs up for them. 

Mr. Curry

For anyone who claims to love Japanese food would have known curry as one of their favorite, and to those who claim to love Japanese curry must have known Mr.Curry.

Mr. Curry as one of the house produced by Waraku, hmm name of Pasta De Waraku ring your memory bell?
Many choices is here, you have no worries in terms of selections. That is my sis, we both Japanese food lover, don’t she look so happy we are about to dine in there.
And we are officially starting the meals here, one of the quickest item arrived is kids meal for my girl. Mango-Nyan Curry Set that looks so cute and don’t you see how happy she is, and it comes with a free toys too. For me the meals is much more healthier and more delicious than any other restaurant where usually the kids meal only spin around junk food. It’s mom and kids approved!
Then it’s time for the grown ups, only in Mr.Curry we can choose up to 4 different curry, from original, red, white, and black sauce. I got to be honest, I like them all, the original is all time favorite, the red is fresh with tomatoes and gives me that zing, while the white is milky creamy and the black is so rich in flavor, I have troubled in terms of choosing the one, and usually I never go alone so each of us can have different kinds each time.

The meat goes along with the curry is abundant too, from chicken, beef, to seafood. Not really much of a meat person? Than you can order with veggies, sausages? Sure, they got it too. Even the beef can be choose between patty, minced or sliced. Now you really run out of excuses not to try Mr.Curry isn’t it?! Mr.Curry really take curry seriously and showing customer they are really specialized in curry and all it’s glory.
I’ve tried pretty much almost everything but I haven’t try the curry with pasta, will do on my next visit. And I hope it is soon ^_^
Okay, this pic is the original sauce, I just want to show you the thickness of it, it was full of flavor, delicious yet not overwhelming. For me it goes down really well with rice and fried food. The mixed between crunchiness of a deep fried food and soft yummy curry and a warm fluffy white rice is unbelievably satisfying.

Try the stewed curry set too, perfect for a cold rainy days. The salad also fresh and lovely for any health conscious people and my kid never have a problem eating them, they are decorated well and like any Japanese product, it’s all about presentation and quality.

You still have many option from Gratin, Risotto, Sandwiches, Nan-bread pizza, and other items for your meal. Either lunch or dinner let Mr.Curry gives you the right kind of satisfaction in a meal. Oh and I do recommend the curry for dine in only, but if you love sandwiches or pizza, they are good to go too.

Don’t forget their drinks, presented in a jar that somehow appealing too.

Last but not least, the delicious dessert that any kid or those young at heart will love. So come here and never come alone, the portion is abundant and your eyes can easily be tempted by how good their presentations are. When you come in a group you can share each other food, this place also family friendly, the atmosphere and ambiance is perfect for hanging out.
