Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

Hello everyone ^__^

Another item from Kiehl’s is here. Last item I’ve reviewed is their foot cream, now, it’s the hand cream.

Details from kiehls.com

Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

Formulated for the driest, most active hands, this heavy–duty moisture treatment is a thick, rich formula offering all–day care and protection. Our blend of select ingredients allows skin to actually draw and absorb water from the air, forming a “glove–like” protective barrier against moisture loss. This formula, which contains a blend of botanical oils as well as natural wax derived from Olive Oil, further soothes, moisturizes and conditions skin. This most effective preparation helps protect against and repair the appearance of severe dryness caused by heavy industrial work, manual labor, neglect, or exposure to harsh elements.

A white slightly yellowish thick cream that feels oily on the skin at first, comforting those dry rough edges on the cells. Within 2 minutes the greasiness will disappears into this soft and smooth feeling. Comfortable for those suffering dryness. Long haul plane and traveling in a winter wonderland calls a desperate need of this cream.

I love the softening ingredients in it, the hands feels delicate right after usage and the wrinkles, white lines due to dryness are all gone. The hydrating effect last even after a wash. But I need to reapply after 3 times of washing the hands. The simple hand cream also may be used for the whole family, from my husband to my daughter the mild eucalyptus scent is gentle and easily hidden under the olive.

When the skin on the hands are protected and hydrated, it will stays ‘young’ as well. Many people even say, ‘know someone’s age from their hands’, so keep them inside the ‘gloves’ of a hand cream and hide your age from your hands.

Sometime I uses the cream on my elbows and knees as well, comfortable!

The white cream is light and melts on the skin instantly, no feeling of grease and oily whatsoever, smooth sailing on the skin 🙂 Moist? Yes! Sticky? No!

The smell, wonderful! It’s sweet, tangy, and delicious. My husband loves it too, the fruit brings us a sweet-tempered aroma, like Christmas itself. The gentle moisturizing effect suitable to be used here as well (in tropical land) but I don’t think it would be the correct item for dry climate and those with severely dry skin. So the scent is definitely the highlight with an undemanding level of hydration. A dainty addition for my noel collection.

Details from the packaging:

Moisturizing Nutritious Total Hand Care. How to use: After washing hands or when they feel dry, apply a small amount to hands and massage to enhance absorption.

Contain shea butter, beeswax, mango seed butter, honey extract, sea water, royal jelly extract, fragrance, and many more.

70 g.

My review:

The packaging is cute, spin to open the tin and I found this whirl of lovely white creamy butter that smells good. Delicious like mango, a whipped mango with milk to be precise. It melts to the touch and the warm of the skin, hmm, I think if it’s in tube, it would be better since Jakarta is hot and humid most of the time, I like to keep my tin in the fridge and it cools down a hot summer days on the palm of my hands.

At first the cream feels oily, and as I keep massaging the oiliness slowly disappears, leaving the hand moisturized and supple, away from dryness. Beside as a hand cream sometime I put it inside my purse and carry it as a moisturizer for my knee and elbow too. The feeling is comfortable as well. I dislike a darken knee and elbow, a constant moisturizing will keep them happy and soft all the time.

Suitable for those with normal to dry skin.

The title is correct alright,

these goodies I get from purchasing Cosmopolitan September, 2012 edition. Cool isn’t it?! The products itself have surpass the buying price of these magazines. In celebration customer get 2 mags in one and two products for Rp.98.000.

Here they are:

The one that caught my eyes is the Aloe from Nature Republic, looks so refreshing and I’m tempted alright ^0^

The details can be found from http://www.naturerepublic.co.kr/eng/

Wow! 92% real aloe, aloe itself are well-known for being a skin saver, universal benefit and can be use by anyone. For health related issue and beauty at the same time.

Look at how gooey and wonderful it is, I used it on my husband’s irritated skin and my daughter’s dry skin. They both love it. I do too. It provide hydration and soothing experience in the same time. Love it!!! It has become a family favorite and apparently there’s 8 way of using it according to Nature Republic, which is for hair, as a face mask, after shaving-for men-, relax swollen eyes, body care, nail essence, relaxing sun burn, and makeup base.

The scent is refreshingly green and lovely. Not overwhelming at all. Comfort and soothes all the way from the cooling texture and properties to the effect making skin moist and have a mild tightening effect like mentioned in the pamphlet given.

A must have! Use it after taking an afternoon shower or night bath as a face mask and it melts all your stress away. Love it!

Added words:

After reading that some girls using it as a moisturizer and causing their skin to dried up and peels off, take note that please do read the instruction carefully before using a (any) product. This is not a moisturizer. We may use it as face mask as written by Nature Republic but not as moisturizer (it is not the same).

Next is the Angle Hand by Too Cool For School and I get mine in Shea Butter, I never like the scent of shea butter, but this one is alright. The cream itself surprisingly wonderful, instead of slippery and greasy hands, it gives me a velvety smooth feeling. Softer hand and smooth skin is achieved without a fuss. The cream is white and not so thick, so even thou’ it is said to be a shea butter, it’s not as heavy as other brand (L’Oxxxxxx). Suitable for those who wants a hand cream on the lighter side.

Hellooooo ^0^

I’m back with another Japanese products here, this one is Mommy!, really? Yes, they named the brand Mommy! Apparently inspired for mommies who have soft skins for their babies.

Here is the packaging from behind, I get my lip balm with freebies, a hand cream. In Japan hand cream is a big hit, the air can turn really dry and the hands are the parts that got dry so easy (after the lips) since they do keep their hands clean and wash it a lot. Some hand cream also contain anti bacterial agent to help the hand cleans in public area.

Here they are. Simple, cute and let’s see if they work well.

All details from Isehan (with Google Translate):

Lip Balm
  • Additive-free mineral oil free, alcohol-free fragrance-free, preservative-free coloring.
  • ※ 2 stimulation of low-allergy test has been tested Sustain logging off skin irritation test ※ 3
※ irritation and allergic does not mean that does not happen to everyone. 2.

※ stimulation of the skin off at the time of application 3., Test to see tingling.
  • Food ingredients such as avocado oil (natural moisturizing factor).
There are my lips after using the lip balm, feels so slippery and there’s a bit of tingling reaction there, almost like cooling but not yet. I really like the watery gloss effect, this is the one I’ve been looking for. Not stained, colored or oily. Watery gloss that last so long (until I swipe it, drink, eat, lick it). And what’s fascinate me is the fact that the balm melts when touching the surface of my lips. Like ice melts to the touch. Unique and lovely.
The hydration feels really good and comfortable to the lips. The product is affordable too, for 525 Yen, it worth every penny.

Hand Cream
  • Additive-free and alcohol free, non-colored mineral oil.

  • (Food ingredients flavor) of Biko scent of Citrus
The hand cream is like a part gel part cream. White and the smell of citrus is juicy plus refreshing, no they don’t have menthol effect, more like smooth effect to the skin. Absorption need time and helped by massaging the palm. The moist effect stays after a light wash, but after 2 wash, I need to reapply. Not slippery nor sticky, so, it’s quite a good hand cream for me.  Add some healthy glow and scent to the hands.

Hi all,
Shea Hand Cream Lavender from Omi Brotherhood Menturm is here, a product from Japan but made in Korea. This 35 gr of product looks simple yet irresistible. As someone who loves lavender, anything with lavender is my thing haha! Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion to even household products, bless those who incorporated lavender to detergent and cleansing liquid.
So this hand cream is something that I wont missed.
Thou’ I’m not a big fan of shea butter, the lavender lures me in. And I’m glad that the shea isn’t sticky at all this time. It does rich but gives the hands a soft feeling instead of sticky, I do have sweaty palm so my hands easily become sticky or super slippery with any hand cream, I even washed my hand right after using body lotion or body butter.
At first I also thought that the product is suitable for winter or dry climate only, but this particular hand cream is wonderful, kinda like White Musk Hand Cream by The Body Shop (click : Here) but a bit lighter. The texture at first is creamy, but after distributing the white kinda thick cream it can absorbed easily, I remember one time a doctor is using this kind of cream, but different brand. As she washes her hands often between patient and it causes her hands to break and really look dry. So I’m not saying this is a product specially for doctor, but anyone who need to washes their hand often or do chores (like laundry and dish washing regularly) may have some benefit from hand cream, plus the lavender scent as a bonus haha!
I also recommend to use every night as sometime we tend to forget our hands as they do need moisture as well, and well, aging signs also shown on your hands you know 😀 Keep them young from the easiest way, hydrating.
Use it as less or as often as you want it. Simple and affordable product available in almost any drug store or beauty shop in Japan.
Warning! The cream is soft alright to the touch but please do careful when lifting a cold glass heehee as it is slippery when touching wet objects.
Hi everyone!

Today let’s talk about caring your hands and feet ^_^

Everyday and almost every posts here is about face, face and face haha! It is time to discuss other part of our body that need attention as well in looking gorgeous. Summer is here, it’s time for flip flop and the trends of open shoes and colors are here too, so the attention is on the other part of our body. You want those hands and feet looking well-groomed as well.

Staying in Jakarta means summer all year long and open toes slippers is always in. Imagine wearing a pair of Jimmy Choo and ehm, those nasty chapped dry heels are visible or the unmanageable toes, they are in need of pampering as well.

There are so many ways of making them look good. From the simplest way at home and daily maintenance to the high end treatments done in a salon or spa.

For me the key start with Cleanliness. As long as they are clean, point no.1  is taken ^^

From washing your hands and feet when they are dirty to scrubbing them well. The skin on our hands and feet are ‘tougher’ in terms of we use our feet for walking daily, so it need to be tough, if not we feel so much pain every single step. And Our hands as well. We touch and hold so many thing daily and it need layers that protect from the heat (cooking mama), roughness (working papa), and other jobs. Some parts can be visible thicker due to constant friction. Like parts where you hold your pen, it create some bumps as a natural cushion. It doesn’t always look good but our body have the tendency to adjust to any situation we’re in.

Nevertheless, due to the adjust mentioned above some part can be quite ‘damage’, seen with roughness, chapped and overly dry. So after scrubbing it, we are using moisturizer for hands and/or feet.

But since those area are used a lot ^0^ some products do cause the hands and feet to be slippery thanks to the oils contained. I experienced it a lot on my feet. To overcome this I put some lotion at night before bed, giving the feet enough time to recover or moisturized over the night. But it need to be done several time and not an instant result. The skin on the are does soften, but easily dries again.

With the hands? Same thing. I wash my hands a lot, from doing laundry, dishes and daily habit as well. So usually the moisture doesn’t last long, I need something instantly making them look good ^^

While pampering is the key, I’m thinking of spa and soaking them real good. There are so many items out there that can be used as a bath soak or some sort. Where I’m letting the natural ingredients soften the skin and nourish it. But again, too much soaking can leave the skin drier, especially when it’s done with warm or hot water.

My resort? Spa and beauty salon! They can pampered my hands and feet alright ^__^ but (haha, I’m really sounds like a complainer) I can’t do this all the time and spend my time at the salon/spa daily. The service depends on the staff and well, humans are also known for being moody and does errors from time to time. I hate when they over clipped the skin, it is painful and sanitizing is a standard not every salon can achieve.

They do have bonus thou’, pretty nails afterwards,

From the most unnatural,

 To the most natural look.

From hands,

To toes.

But I wish I can do these at home all by myself with the easiest way. How?

Yes, try TALIKA ^^ I do tried their Instant Manicure –> HERE

And I see an instant result 🙂

So nails-wise, they are covered. I still want the rough part on the book of my hands and heels be securely lovable as well. Right now all my choices is in the daily treatment. From cleanliness, scrub/peeling, and oh, one more thing, for the feet, we need them smells real good as well. I do found many ideas on removing the odors –> HERE. Aren’t there an all in one solutions? The one that gives smoothness, smells good, pampering, moisturizing, and for the nails too?

Before we go there, daily diet also important for a healthy nails and skin, including the skin on our hands and feet. Nails in particular have these details:

Nail problems    Possible nutrient deficiency
Brittle, weak and dry      Calcium, Vitamin A
White spots       Iron, Zinc
Cracking and breaking    Protein, Iron
White lines        Zinc, Protein
Curved nail end and darkening     Vitamin B12
Reddish-brown spots      Folic acid, Protein and Vitamin C
(from Nestle-Family.com)

And one more that often asked, yellowish? Is due to color pigment, who often colored their nails without using base coat to protect the nails, the pigment goes into the nails. Other problem such as fungus, etc, can be solved with anti-fungus cream.

Euuhhhhhhh!!!! I know, I know, we are all here to discuss how can hands and feet become gorgeously beautiful ^__^ take note that beautiful hands and feet (incl nail) start from a healthy condition. After that then you can enhance the condition by pampering pampering and pampering ^^

So remember, healthy diet, cleaning, soaking, scrubbing, and moisturizing is the key to a beautiful hands and feet. Let’s wait if there’s a product that can give us a result of all that in one, until then let’s do the conventional way.

See you!

Details from L’Occitane.com:

A super-smoothing–and best-selling–synergy of 20% Shea Butter, honey and sweet almond extract, blended with the light and alluring aromas of jasmine and ylang-ylang essences. Texturally pleasing balm glides on and absorbs to help heal and protect dry or dehydrated skin. Anti-oxidizing vitamin E helps nourish. Invites even the most hard-working hands to a fresh beginning.

Of thick texture, it penetrates easily and quickly and it does not leave a greasy film. At night apply a generous layer and massage the hands. It can be used anytime of the day.

My review:

The thick cream have a pleasant musky-shea-butter scent and for me it’s not really comfortable to be used on day time in Jakarta where it is hot and humid. I think it would be perfect for long haul plane, they do have travel size hand cream. It’s not quickly absorbed, I can still feel it when it’s already spread like 15 minutes ago. I remember the staff at L’Occitane reminds me to use it with a glove at night then waking up with a smooth hands in the morning. What I like about the cream? The healing property that gives a skin an instant healthy glow, supple and moist.
