Category: Maybelline

Hello lovelies,

I got this very cute BB Stick in huge size, I can sing with it  . . .

Haha!!! No lah! It’s just a container for 2 BB Stick from Maybelline which actually I used for Indonesian Beauty Blogger (IBB) makeup challenge in January 2013 (HERE).

Clear Smooth BB Stick

Get the 8 benefits plus shine-control in one stick.

  • Satu stick memiliki segalanya!
  • 8 manfaat BB dikombinasikan dengan bedak anti-shine, mengontrol minyak berlebih dan bebas kilap hingga 12 jam, melindungi dengan SPF 21+++, dan praktis dalam bentuk stick

Now, a review on the product, exclusively \^0^/ I got two, the Natural and Radiance. The Natural fits me perfectly and I thought that would be the one and only shade for me, later on I found out I can use any of them as the shade does blends on me.

The Natural on the left and Radiance on the right side.

The BB Stick looks like a chubby lipstick, plumped and smooth. The texture is pleasing and suitable most for those with normal-oily skin.

I swipe each on my cheeks. Left cheek with Natural, right cheek with Radiance.

The Radiance gives me a light tan skin effect while the Natural looks like my own skin type. Easily blend all over, the texture is smooth, like using butter on the skin without the greasy effect, in fact, it gives the skin a mattefying effect that will be drying the skin in the long run. So, use it wisely and never goes to bed without cleaning the skin from makeup (ANY makeup).

Above is swatch on the hand which perhaps may give you a clearer view. Always use a proper skincare before using any makeup, so the skin stays moist, supple and nourished while the makeup above gives the skin a flawless finish and less imperfection. The BB Stick also gives the skin protection from the sun around 5 hours. Also covers redness, fine lines, large pores, and dark spots. The result is a velvety even toned skin that last for hours and hours.

The BB Stick is fun to be used, easy and for me fool’s proof. It was easily blend on the skin with fingers alone. I can use as little or as much as I want, just keep swiping it or dabbing it on the areas needed some covering. Buildable without any cakey or thick feeling. I use a loose powder afterwards and that’s it! The base is pretty much set. As mentioned above the product kept the skin matte, which is drying for the skin in the long run, so I use it when I need the makeup to stay intact in a certain condition like busy day or especially outdoor when I sweat a lot and sebum comes. And pampers the skin after usage by properly cleans it and gives hydrating moisturizer during the night all the way ’til morning.

The stick also not messy like other form of BB Cream where tube, jar or bottle sometime does. Handy to be carried and user friendly.

Have you try one yourself?

Hello lovelies,

Indonesian Beauty Blogger March 2013 is officially started today ^__^

Created a look like a dazzling Marilyn and win prizes from The Balm, a cosmetic brand from San Fransisco which recently landed in Indonesia.

Some of the products used in this tutorial are courtesy of The Balm and will help me creating a look that hopefully as mesmerizing as Ms. Monroe herself.

Here are the three items, Balms Away, the eye makeup remover, Shady lady, an eye shadow with a whole lotta attitude, and Mary Lou Manizer, a highlighter / luminizer that want to get all the attention she can get.

I’ll share Balms Away review on a next post and two makeups here ^__^

It’s gonna be an exciting next post ^__–

Let’s start the step to step guide of me trying to create a glimpse of Marilyn’s iconic look.

Start with a bare face.

Boi-ing, an industrial strength concealer from Benefit to cover large pores, under eye, fine lines and other imperfection.

Shiseido Lifting Foundation shade I 00, by fingers, dot a few spots on 5 parts and blend away. Covering all the uneven skin tone and creating a base for the skin. Wait for a good 5 minutes before the next step, so the foundation have time to sets in.

Followed by a compact powder by Estee Lauder.

I use a foundation brush for CyberWhite EX Extra Brightening Powder Makeup. Make sure the skin is completely dry and the foundation has set before this powder or it will make some blotchy effect.

Then a Loose Powder from Teint Miracle series from Lancome, a very beautiful light powder that gives the skin a luminous effect with a mild glistening aura.

On some part Touche Eclat from Yves Saint Laurent is added, then blend with fingers.

Anna Sui Eyebrow Color Compact is used for my brow in shade 03. Simple, so easy to use and looks natural.

Don’t forget to tidy up the brows first.

I use a base for eyeshadow using Kate eye shadow in PU-1 inspired by this look from Marilyn,

She looks stunningly beautiful.

Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner for that cat eye look or at least a winged, but I need something more, the lashes.

D’Eyeko is used, and just happen to be the only lashes I have that able to create a very sexy cat eyed lashes.

Tips of using D’Eyeko that I get from Lizzie, use from the outer side to the inner, and it works!

A subtle touch of a Cheeky Glow, for that light blushing touch from Maybelline.

I need a shadow that really perk up the eyes and increase the effect of the sexy lashes, Shady Lady is here.

Comes in 10 gorgeous shades that’s bold and brave.

There’s some tiny sparkles, I see they have some shades that’s not available in other cosmetic brands and unique too.
The selling price is Rp.150.000.

Same goes with Mary Lou Manizer, which I think a must added collection to any beauty pouch. Rp.280.000.

I love this highlighter as it draw attention right through it and exactly where you want the attention to be. Easily blend and watch out, you may in for a spotlight \^0^/

Then, it’s the lips, I tried making them thin but decided to make it bold and so red and seductive,
Maybelline Red Porcelain, I love this lipstick, like a red leather just landed and rule.

No Marilyn look would be complete without that famous black dot, right below her left cheek.

Using the Hyper Sharp Liner again and voila!

I want to go all out with a blonde wig, but try imagining Marilyn in a brunette.

Using my Philips are a curler, a wave that says, hello, I’m here.

Get a help from L’Oreal Professionnel Bounce Whip.

Divide the hair section by section and tongs on! Change my clothes into something with vintage tag label, and I’m ready!

How do I look?

Hi girls!

I’m making a LOTD with SilkyGirl and Maybelline. It’s going to be simple and suitable for daily use, with a hint of green, it add some freshness to my newly colored hair.

I love how nowadays colors seems inhibited anymore, without being too bold Maybelline able to add green without being so heavy.

The eyeshadows is from Maybelline Hyper Diamonds GN-1 and SilkyGirl in EverGreen for the eyeliner.

Both products works well in creating a smooth gradation of green for the lids.

Now, mascara is definitely needed, I’m using Long Extreme Double Stretch that comes as a two in one mascara.

1 is in white, as a base coat for longer and more obvious lashes in an instant.

Where after a while the whites will dries out and become clearer. I coated it with no.2 which is the black mascara.

So easy to be used and the process may be repeated for a longer and heavier lashes.
The mascara is waterproof and smudge-proof too. Suitable for going on a date and watch a sad movie.

I wish the brush have smaller ends so it can help picking up shorter lashes.

This is the result when the eyes are closed. Instantly longer and more dramatic than before. I only coat them once with each step. Remember the steps can be repeated several time to create longer and fuller lashes but 3 times is max or the ‘extension’ will break.

Using a lash curler will help the lashes to curl up and open the eyes bigger.

Then, the final touch is a SilkyGirl Magic Pink Lip Balm which I think perfect to create a sultry light pinkish lips.

For me the look is perfect for a lunch date with hubby ^__^ fresh, simple and he doesn’t have to wait too long for me getting ready haha!

Hello everyone ^__^

Finally, after spending the whole day in front of my lappie, this post can be done. As a part of Indonesian Beauty Blogger monthly make up challenge, the theme we have right now (Jan 2013) is Must Have Red with Maybelline as the product highlights.

This is the look I created inspired by the theme and products from Maybelline. I super duper love the lipstick for able to give bright red lips and enough shine at the same time. Looks vinyl to me :*

Don’t forget to participate on the challenge too ya ^__^

Here’s the details:

and click ME to find out more.

Now, instead of a normal post, a video is presented with step by step guide of me creating the look. You don’t have to follow the steps accordingly, makeup should be about freedom to express yourself and do things your own way.

And here are some pictures taken after the makeup is done. The whole process from base to lips took me around 17 minutes.

Overall, the products from Maybelline is wonderful. The B.B Stick impress me with how smooth it is sliding on the skin like a sharp skates on the ice. Easily blends and provide enough coverage (like medium to high). A concealer still needed for (big) acne, deeper lines or areas under the eyes but overall is still a very good product with SPF too. The mascara is (like always) proven waterproof, I did cry (watching sad movies … 50 First Date is a bit sad) and wash my face with cold water, the mascara stays on like nothing happened. The Crayon Liner is not tear proof and does smudge too, solution? Don’t rub the eyes while using it.

The eyeshadow can be used for many different use as a highlighter for the nose and the dark shades for the brows too. For the eyes? A proper use can help creating a dramatic eyes, bigger eyes, or seductive eyes.

The cheeks are seduced with wooden rose, use it as faint or as bold as you want and there’s a glowing material too in the ingredient, so it created an illusion like a sun just kiss the cheeks.

The lipstick. Oohhh! Where should I start?! The consistency, elasticity, rubberiness, viscosity, density, intensity, the …. errr everything seems so right and compacted. It’s like magnet to my lips. Color Sensational Red Porcelain RP41 is sensational! Love it!

Better hurry, the competition ends on the 20th of Nov 2012.

Now here’s mine, noooooooo I’m not joining the competition, I’m just giving you mine and hope you get inspired by it ^0^

A huge thanks to my little sister, once again she has become my model heehee. Above is her before face.

Start with a mineral foundation by bareMineral in light. I don’t need a thick layer of coverage since her skin doesn’t have much problem to be covered. Yes, we both have great genes ^^ btw none of these photos are edited, I dislike edited photos, well, minor is okay, but is the changes are major like jawline, nose shape, and bumpy red skin become flawlessly smooth without a trace, it would be just wrong. We should be proud of our-self, it’s funny how you met someone on their photo and in actual real live to be the complete opposite. Okay, enough chit chat ^__^

I added some Maybelline Clear Smooth in Natural for those anti sebum protection. Both the powder and the mineral foundation applied using brush. Perfect for a young lady like my sister where she wants the lightness of a makeup without being heavy.

Then I tidied the brow (no plucking, she dislike plucking the eye brows) using Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes for the brows and the lashes are using Too Cool For School Super Glam Volume Up Mascara (blue).

Anna Sui Eye Color Duo 04 used as a based for the liners and lid.

Topped it off with Revlon Colorstay 540 and for the liners? Revlon Colorstay 002 Brown. Easily blend the look where the green takes part as a star. Blend it with light green and creamy yellow base.

The Body Shop Cheek Color 04 with golden sparkles for that fairy dust.

Now the theme starts now, using the brown eye liners as the main twig, heehee, my sis didn’t allowed me to give her a branch, so twigs it is.

Gradually draw leaves one by one with Revlon and Anna Sui. Anna Sui Eyebrow Color Compact in 03 also used as the main lines of the leaves, where the eyeshadows becomes the fillings.

To add another sparks on the forest theme, Palgantong Brilliant Jelly Shadow in Blue Topaz (BS 45) is added using a lip brush.

Carefully turning the eye lid on the left side as a leave as well. Decorate the hair ehm, she is not a tree, accessorize her hair and put on a costume for that forest fairy overall look.

The lips are smeared with Ceramide Ultra Lipstick from Elizabeth Arden in Honeysuckle.

Adding some green shadows in the middle part for a touch of green.

And below for a more mysterious look of a forest fairy where all the lips covered in green shadows.

It’s easy isn’t it? So? Join the competition and let your imagination run wild.

All the products used and thank you sister =^0^=

On 22 July 2012, the entire Zouk complex was transformed into an unofficial fashion mall for The Fashion Uprising. Furnished with constructed display racks, changing rooms and cash registers, Zouk was dressed to the nines with the pop-up storefronts of the 12 participating online labels as they came together in the name of collaboration and friendly competition.

Following the theme of carnival fun, brought to life by the décor, lighting, music and set-up of the entire complex, excited shoppers were treated to special deals and exclusive collection previews, courtesy of the 12 brands housed under Chic Kiss Love; Dressabelle, Foggiare, Hollyhoque, Hungover Sundays, Kristine’s Collection, Lacepipe, Missypixie, Momoteapots, The Closet Lover, The Design Closets, The Stage Walk, Vogue Fashion House.

More than 2,000 fashionable shoppers (men and women included) and media, including popular fashion bloggers, Dawn Bey of and Genie Yamaguchi of The Couture Pony attended the event. Attendees delighted in more than 120 exclusive unreleased designs, sipped The Love Potion specially concocted by Zouk and watched Singapore’s longest runway show walk right before their eyes in a catwalk route that caught shoppers off guard.

Golden tickets holders gained exclusive access to a one-hour preview of The Fashion Uprising and received a door gift with $120 worth of vouchers from Chic Kiss Love among other gifts from generous sponsors. They also enjoyed one complimentary Love Potion and a one-time Zouk entry pass valid till September.

The camaraderie and combined publicity efforts of the 12 labels drew a huge crowd and led to snaking queues at each changing room. Hollyhoque, in particular, turned the recently renovated Velvet Underground into their own fashion warehouse, attracting a throng of shoppers trailing from the dance arena to the exclusive Velvet Lounge.

The carnival-esque atmosphere was further accentuated by sponsors’ efforts at making these shoppers feel appreciated. From free ice cream from Gushcloud outside the renowned nightspot to Swoop’s photobooth complete with outrageous wigs and zany props to Chic Kiss Love’s very own “I AM” wall, indulgence was rife at The Fashion Uprising. Guests, who made purchases at the event were also treated to a free makeover by Maybelline, at their booths situated on the second floor in the Zouk dance room.

1500 Love Potions were consumed on the day, with 25 percent of the proceeds going to the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped; an initiative undertaken by Chic Kiss Love to give back to society.

The atmosphere and excitement reached a high as 3.30 pm neared. Local models, faces of the 12 shops under Chic Kiss Love, set ablaze the 650 metre runway which snaked throughout Phuture, Wine Bar, Velvet and Zouk. Standing out among the masses, these 12 gorgeous representatives of each shop had their hair done by the professional stylists from Kenaris salon, sponsored by Redken. Faces were painted to perfection by the make up artists from Maybelline Singapore.

The models gave out prizes sponsored by Swoop, Zouk and Boathouse to the audience in a unique, interactive runway show, which incorporated a lucky giveaway. Lasting a solid 27 minutes with the bass pounding in the background, the models finished with a bang in a final walk outside Wine Bar.

Thrills and frills were abound throughout Zouk on the event day and are documented here.

Hi all!

Lately I have been reviewing some blemish balm on the market and some are even brand new. Here are my reviews regarding the products.

L’Oreal BB Max: HERE.

Maybelline BB Cream Clear Smooth : HERE.

Lancome BB Complete : HERE.

But today, I want to do a comparison review on three of them. I do this since most of the time many people surround me (incl you) are asking, “Okay, I’m using this brand now, is it better than that brand?”. And some added description can only be observed when we put them together to see what’s different between them

Start with packaging. The design of L’Oreal BB Max is more luxurious while Lancome BB Complete is simpler and ‘cleaner’. I can’s say anything about Maybelline BB Cream since the one I have is only sample size. The tip of L’Oreal BB Max is better than Lancome for being less messy and more precise.

The texture: L’Oreal BB Max and Lancome BB Complete have almost the same texture, but if you look closely, L’Oreal BB Max is slightly (just a tad) thicker and Maybelline BB Cream is the most fluid between them.

The color: L’Oreal BB Max and Lancome BB Complete had an almost same tone (but when spread later you can see the mild differences) which is like a grey-ish tone. While Maybelline BB Cream is more like nude skin color tone.

Scent: Amazingly again, L’Oreal BB Max and Lancome BB Complete smell almost the same and Maybelline BB Cream smell like my painting art color. Really they smell just like that. Well maybe, they just unscented so the natural scent smell as it is.

Sun Protection: L’Oreal BB Max and Lancome BB Complete stays up there with SPF 50 UVB and UVA PA +++ while Maybelline BB Cream contains SPF 26 PA+++

Tone selection: Only Lancome BB Complete provide 2 option. Lighter, which is pinkish, and warmer tone for a nude natural look.

Now as I spread the three of them, I can see more differences. L’Oreal BB Max and Lancome BB Complete is softer and smoother compared to Maybelline BB Cream texture. And now please do take a look at the tone.

L’Oreal BB Max looks warmer than Lancome BB Complete that seems fairer. The difference is not much but funny thing thou’ later on Lancome BB Complete able to blend in with my natural skin tone after a while.

L’Oreal BB Max and Maybelline BB Cream stays to their tone and will not adjusted into my natural skin tone. I’m not saying this is bad or good, it’s just a preference for customer to choose.

This is the picture after I blend it on my skin. L’Oreal BB Max and Lancome BB Complete is easier to blend in compared to Maybelline BB Cream, but overall it’s a matter of selection and all three have a fairly good coverage ability.

Last but not least is the price. Maybelline BB Cream Clear Smooth is the most affordable, followed by L’Oreal BB Max then Lancome BB Complete. But Lancome BB Complete have another ingredients that in the long run of usage will benefit the skin condition.

All three need to be clean using double cleansing for it’s sun protection and makeup function. Use a cleansing milk with cotton or rinse with water (if possible) then followed by cleansing foam. Or use a cleaning oil like from Shu Uemura which doesn’t need double cleansing.

Tips: All three of them can be applied better using a brush for liquid foundation to achieve a smoother look. Use them little by little and graduate for added coverage, no need to go overboard since BB cream was used for ‘natural’ look, if you use too much, you can easily look cakey.

Wait for the BB cream to sits in before applying more makeup, like loose powder or color. Any BB Cream best to be used with loose powder of your own natural shade.

These are my looks using different BB Cream

L’Oreal BB Max: HERE.               Lancome BB Complete : HERE.

Maybelline BB Cream Clear Smooth : HERE.

Thank you for reading and see you again soon ^__^

Hi all!
I just got this B.B Cream from Maybelline, it is said Clear Smooth 8 in 1 Skin Transformer. Brightens, Conceals, Evens, Clears, Refines, Smoothes, Moisturizes, Protects Skin. Clinically proven, no oil, no fragrance, no pore clogging, even suitable for sensitive skin, dermatologist tested. Directions: Apply daily all over face.
The texture of the B.B Cream is slightly creamy and a bit thick. I can feel the powdery effect. The feeling is smooth but not overly smooth.

Now, let see the before after effect on my face.

The B.B Cream do create a lighter shade and a more even complexion. Practice always means makes perfect in the long run, so does with this B.B Cream, you need to work through by massaging to get that even distribution. Redness, marks and dark spots seems lesser in terms of visibility.

You probably can see the after side is smoother in terms of less bumps seen on the surface and fairer too. I like the fact that it doesn’t irritate my skin and like an instant boost. But the cream doesn’t feels light on the skin.

This is my look after I put some makeup on. I add some powders and colors too. The B.B Cream do help with finer looks. Overall, this very affordable products will meets most of the customer expectation but this product doesn’t really satisfy me and made me wish the B.B Mousse by Maybelline to visit us soon in Indonesia.

Here some info from Maybelline Indonesia:

  • Pewarna bibir 2-in-1 (2 in 1 lip color)
  • Dengan 3X kekuatan lipbalm yang diperkaya dengan minyak Jojoba, Vitamin E & Allantoin
merawat dan memberikan kelembaban mendalam pada bibir. (3 times lipbalm power that enriched with Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E & Allantoin that care and give deeper moisture to the lips)
Bibir terasa lembut, halus & sehat. (Lips feel soft, smooth and healthy)
  • Bibir lebih sensual, warna lebih merekah. (Lips become more sensual, more vivid color)
  • Tersedia dalam 25 warna dan 12 warna baru. (Available in 25 + 12 new colors)
  • Bibir terlihat lebih penuh, sungguh menggoda (Lips appears fuller and more seductive)
  • Maksimal warnanya, ekstrim lembabnya. (Maximum color with an extreme moist)

And mine is Bonbon Pink 913. Why? It seems like Maybelline color is more to the pink hue since perhaps the target is for young ladies and fresh pink in many shades do suits them well. So far their color are naturals and perfect for daily use. And I went along and get myself some pinky.
The color is really pink as in PINK ^0^ suitable for a day use and the moisturizing effect is not bad, but if you want to use it for all day long repeated application is a must since they are not a stay-on lipstick. This light texture and color is glossy and accentuate a lips that is moist and smooth. Also available collection with SPF 15 that helps protect your lips from the bad rays.
