Look of The Day – Stick to The Base

Hi all!

After quite a while now I make another LOTD and show off some of the collections that I already reviewed some time ago 🙂

Laneige Volume Finish Blusher in 204 err . . . I never made a review about this product, well let’s do that now. The mono rose is a bit coral (just a tad) and gives me a plain brick look, which is suitable for daily use but for special occasion, I need something more which gives gradation, sparks like glitters perhaps and glow.

I started by using the primer from Estee Lauder and always on a clean moisturized skin.

After primer the skin is ready for makeup and light one will do since the glow, radiant and better looking complexion are achieved by the primer. Different primer gives different effect, mines give those illuminating finish with pearly touch.

Then I moved on to Shu Uemura BB Mousse, an all in one solution for coverage, sun protection and smoother looking skin. After the BB Mousse I always apply on loose powder, which is Revlon now and use brush for both BB Mousse and loose powder as the powder helps the application more even and finer result.

Moved on to the brow, I trim mine a bit before using the pencil brow from Dolly Wink, brush it with the ones attached to the pencil and help the color to cover the brow better. I love how soft the brush is and I gotta say, Dolly have the softest brush and as effective as other brands which is harder and not gentle on the skin.

After the brows, I moved on to the eyes, creating eye liners using Anna Sui’s on the lid and make some cat-eye look. Careful that some people have different eye (left from the right) and I’m one of them so I need to be extra gentle and take more time if I want an exact same result, but nowadays as I pay attention on makeup world in the runway, it is okay to slightly different. Still same stroke of application but the result can be a bit different one eye to the other. Same rule goes to the brows as well. So you just relax and portray your own definition of beauty.

The lower part of my eyes I uses Aqua Liner from MUFE in purple, adding a twist of colors there. Continues with blush on from Laneige and the smooth operator lippy from Shu.

Final touch for me? Lashes, it create a different me all at once. Love it!

Candy Doll Makeup Base SPF 30

This is my before face= cleanse, toned, serum, and moisturizer already sits in.

With a cleaned hand, I put half of the package and it is more than enough to the whole face (more than enough means all the way to the neck)

And my after face. A more even toned skin and compared to the Liquid Foundation the Make Up Base is lighter and more comfortable to the skin, but don’t worry both are comfortable, it’s just one is more than the other since the texture is lighter.

The SPF is definitely another point and no more excuse for not protecting your skin from the bad effect of a long term sun rays exposure since now there’s this wonderful all in one base.

After using Make Up Base SPF 30 I put on some loose powder and colors ^^ and I’m ready for the day!

The coverage is okay, even out the skin tone, no more visible pores, no more acne marks and add a hint of pink glow on the skin.
It stays on my skin for a half day (more than 8 hours) which is exactly what I need.

Recommended? Yes!

Candy Doll Liquid Foundation in 02

Hi all!

I’m back with reviews for Candy Doll ^__^

This time I get the Liquid Foundation no 02. Apparently they only have in 2 tones, 01 and 02. Later on I’ll share with you the Make Up Base in 01. But now let’s see the Liquid Foundation in 02.

Each sachet is enough for 2x usage, and it is easily noticeable so please do use in small amount first where later you can build it up gradually.

At first I was really in doubt since the tone is too yellow and dark for me, but after keep spreading it well and with the help of a brush the tone gradually follows my natural skin tone. On the left picture above the color starts to blends in and between my body and face the tone become even 🙂

Review:

The texture is a like a rich liquid, it is a liquid alright but rich and can blend well in a clean moisturized face. You can use your finger or brush, I find the brush does a better job than fingers.  And the “After” look is thorough, no more fine lines, visible pores and the skin looks luminously even. It stays with me whole day long. I don’t find it melting during hot days but just in case you have a really oily skin, use oil blotters and do touch up when needed.

I use loose powder on top of the liquid foundation and I don’t need more layer of base. Overall I think the product is quite good, they do only offer very limited color choices but can adjust to your natural skin tone gradually. It does gives me a fairer look and no more redness visible. Suitable for those who are looking for a light liquid with a bit of rich feeling and very well coverage. Blend-able and easily build up for a more ‘heavy duty’ makeup.

Three points

Before I use my skincare as usual and then followed by a BB Base from other brand. And I use a brush all over the plate of powder given, and apparently the small amount is enough for the whole face for one use. As seen on the after picture the skin become smoother, matte and ready for the day without looking oily and uneven. The powder stays with me almost the whole day, but please do be careful not to sweat until the powder sets as it might look a bit blotchy on the area where the pores are bigger (like nose and upper cheeks).
