Category: Giorgio Armani

Greetings everyone!

I’m back with more reviews on perfumes . . . love ’em and I guess they are the ones that invigorate my inspirations and perk me up every single time.

Perfume is always something that’s personal, either you love it or hate it, it’s like a personal taste. But Giorgio Armani for me is always something that I’ve looked for and get excited. I guess his taste suits mine, both for ladies or in men’s collection.

Thanks to Giorgio Armani Indonesia, I was given a chance to try some of Giorgio’s Collection.

The new Acqua di Gio Essenza -edp- (read the press release –> HERE including the notes and background too)

The smell is just sensational, masculine, yet still fresh and clean. I like my men smelling like Essenza, strong and sensual. Hmm, is it just me or the scent can be used for me as well. There’s a bit of vibration of being, crisp, young and free . . . and universal too. Thanks to the citrus, I guess.

Suitable for men whose just turn 30 or maybe anyone whose young at heart and full of life. Watch out ladies, this one is a magnet.

Next is the one attached to the postcard ^__^ the lovely Acqua Di Gioia

Product details from giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com:

Acqua di Gioia is a hymn to nature in all its forms. It is a clean, incredibly fresh, aquatic scent that is ultra-approachable, yet memorable.
• HEAD: Begin with a “mojito” inspired sensual blend of crushed mint leaves, warmed by brown sugar and mixed with the zest of Italian Limone.
• HEART: Feminine floral notes emerge with joyous hints of acquatic Jasmine, dew of Peony and subtle traces of pink pepper.
• BASE: Its signature Mediterranean trail is rooted by the hearts of cedarwood and Labdanum.

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia – The new essence of joy.

And it looks like a favorite for so many people since products after products are delivered to complete the whole set. From body cream, hair mist, body mist, satin, roller ball, lotion and some more as well. So anyone can use their favorite Acqua di Gioia anywhere and however they please. And I can see why, the flower is wonderful and those pink pepper is definitely there, adding another layer of femininity and strength the the scent.

As usual all the Acqua series are burst with aquatic scent, fresh and clean feeling, wonderful, young and sophisticated at the same time without overwhelming the sense. I imagine a young vibrant woman, independent yet sweet and lovely as she is, a bit wild, like a mermaid in her own world.

Then, I try on the slender Armani Code Luna -edt-

product details from boots.com:

For this new interpretation of Code, Dominique Ropion created a “vanilla eau de toilette”, fresh and floral, leaving a mesmerising wake. To lead in, bright citrus-like and sparkling bergamot notes, green accents of bitter orange essence, and a pear chord, crisp as fresh fruit.
At its core, the orange blossom absolute – the real olfactory signature of Code Luna – combines with a stunning “moonflower”, filmy and light as air. With the botanical name EphiphyllumOxypetalum, it thrives in areas of light and shadow. Cultivated in India, legend has it that it only opens and flowers during the full moon. Rare and mysterious, its whiteness is a reflection of its purity; it grows and blooms to its fullest in the moonlight.
On the bottle, a subtle play on light.
The frosty base evokes the freshness and mystery of the moon. Soft to the touch, it offers a note of sensuality; while, the floral motif – the line’s hallmark – allows the light to filter through the delicate light-blue liquid.

Ooh the vanilla, you won’t be able to miss-guessed the aroma alright, it would be the first thing you recognized and somewhat reminds me a lot of Coca Cola Vanilla, which is my favorite Coca Cola flavors of all time, too bad not all countries carries it but it was sweet and beautiful as a vanilla could ever be. It was superb and a bit like Valentino’s (Valentina), they have the same sweetness that’s a delight with more sophistication and mesmerizing as any lady or blue blood princess have.

For me Code Luna is irresistible. A scent that I truly adore and will easily falls in love to for being ultra feminine, delicate and beautiful. Layers of gorgeousness.

In the end all three offers a choices for a wide variety of people out there, endearing, something to love of be loved by.

A new interpretation of perfection: sensual, human, sublime.
For the new Acqua di Giò campaign, the inspiration is the myth
of Apollo, son of Jupiter, radiant god and icon in the modern
sense: for the beauty he offers, for the absolute fascination he
embodies.
Simon Nessman is the new face of the fragrance. With his
sculptural and elegant body, he is the perfect embodiment of
a contemporary Apollo.
Behind the lenses: Bruce Weber, one of the greatest fashion
photographers, renowned for his representation of the male body.
His visual signature is recognizable in the new Acqua di Giò
advertising campaign.

Embracing your origins and roots, and yet standing out, truly
being another. With one’s heritage, one’s culture, one’s future…
Giorgio Armani has always loved the Mediterranean, and drew
his inspiration from the rock-strewn landscape of Pantelleria
to create Acqua di Giò in 1996. A fresh, sensual blend that has
become a classic men’s fragrance. An irresistible combination
of sea’ salty accents, sparkling citrusy notes, musk and woody
cedar, this exceptional scent embodies masculinity in harmony
with nature, a fragrance of escape and sensuality.
Today Acqua di Giò Essenza opens a new chapter with an Eau
de Parfum, a new interpretation of Acqua di Giò, more intense.

EAU DE PARFUM
Acqua di Giò Essenza, composed by Alberto Morillas, evolved
out of its predecessor but differs from it in many ways.
The top note is different: in Acqua di Giò, the famous Calone,
that once immersed us in the salt water of the sea, has given
way to a new ingredient, used here for the very first time,
Cascalone. We are no longer in an iodized wave but in
the coolness of fresh water, in the invigorating purity of
a flowing spring. The water runs, sparkles in a constantly
renewed dance. It courses through the entire fragrance
and gives it an extraordinary, persistent freshness. A profound
freshness, sustained by accents of Cologne, Sicilian bergamot
essence and delicious grapefruit zest.
Now to the heart note: Hedione, a founding product of
contemporary perfumery created in the 1960’s, is replaced by
one of its descendents, still new to the perfumer’s palette,
aptly named Paradisone. Like its ancestor, it has the amazing
ability to brighten everything around it and reinforce the
stength of each ingredient, to last in the long run and anchor
the molecules in the aura. Paradisone also adds a floral and
vaporous scent, rather intriguing and delicate, that reveals
the beauties of jasmine absolute from Grasse and the
vegetal facets of basil and sage.
Also the bottom note is distinctive, reinventing everything.
Almost every one of the original elements is present but
totally revised. Patchouli is obtained by a new distillation
method, becoming a “heart of patchouli” that sweeps away the
usual hints of camphor and banishes the earthy heaviness to
focus on the vibration and play around notes of leather. The
cedar is Atlas cedar, very pure and smooth. Vetiver from Haiti
unveils soft, spicy/smoky hints of tropical wood, far from
the expected Mediterranean notes. As for Ambrox, hovering
between animalic ambergris and clary sage, there is ten
times more of it than in Acqua di Giò Eau de Toilette.
The result is an incomparable sensuality, the tantalizing lure
of the skin.

A BOTTLE ABLAZE WITH LIGHT
It shares the same architectural lines as the Acqua di Giò bottle,
with the addition of light and technology. An engraved silverplated
plaque embraces the base of the glass like a mirror, to
give the fragrance an even greater dazzle. In a click, the new
magnetic cap bearing the Armani logo, opens and closes the
bottle with a simple, sensual gesture.

Today Acqua di Giò Essenza opens a new chapter with an Eau
de Parfum, a new interpretation of Acqua di Giò, more intense.
Embracing its origins and roots, and yet standing out, truly
being another. With one’s heritage, one’s culture, one’s future…

This is my ultimate favorite perfume of all time 🙂
The first time I know this perfume is when I was in high school and remember how famous it was. Like all the girls are using this perfume. The fresh floral fruity scent is a big hit and loved by many. Now as 16 years has passed, it is still one of my most favorite perfume of all times.

Details from http://www.giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com:

Acqua di gio blends fresh notes of melon and pear with an armful of hyacinth, jasmine, rose and lily. At the base, a wake of musk and sandalwood caress the senses with sensuality and serenity.

I love how the fruity notes first started to burst, followed by the floral and calmness of everything in the base note. The scent for me even thou it is edt, it stayed almost the whole day and I love every time I sprays it on my clothes it would stay until the next day. The scent is wonderful, beautiful and elegant in a very light and refreshing way possible.

Imagine myself in a garden filled with summer flowers and fruits, ladylike but still in so much fun and effortless beauty.
