We get our in Tokyo last month for around 500 Yen a bottle which many resellers sells it for 5x the original price. Yikes!

The details given from the website is clear enough, so let me share the feeling and experience of using the product and the result so far.

Most shampoo has to be used on wet hair and after being lathered. This one is different. Put the liquid directly on wet scalp. Add a bit more water and massage the scalp. The lathers are light but not the menthol.

The first time I used it is in the morning and it was super duper cold. Like freezing cold. The whole scalp become energized and I’m fully awake alright @_@ thanks to the high menthol feeling. It was an experience that hard to forget. My husband enjoy the mints so much even thou’ he doesn’t have oily scalp.

Yes, this product is beneficial for those with  oily scalp like me. The scalp remain feeling clean and sebum free for hours. It does stays sebum free far less longer than other shampoo I’ve used. Which means the product also made the hair dry. I need a conditioner / mask with high moisturizing effect for the hair strands since my scalp is oily and the hair is brittle and dry.

Will I keep using it? Yes, around 2-3 times a week or when the scalp feels super oily or when I need my hair to stay limp-free longer.

The menthol feeling stays on the scalp for almost a full hour, perfect for hot summer days.

Not recommended for those with dry scalp condition.

Hi lovelies,

this is a very exciting product for me, I’ve been looking for a scalp shampoo since most of the shampoo sold locally is for the hair and only thinking about the hair. So focusing on the dry hair, the shampoo causing the scalp to be overly oily and even causing dandruff to some people. Those shampoo are not made for scalp. This one does, and I love it!!

All details from

As seen above, all the details are in Japanese, yup, I got mine from there as well, during the recent trip to Osaka. Soon, I’ll get there and get a full stock heehee.

Why is this shampoo turn out so well on me?

The non silicone ingredients is one of the main reason, as it wont clogged the scalp and other factors like ginger as well.

The lovely pink bottle is adorable and I love how it look luxurious with the detailed embroidery. The shampoo itself is a clear gel which easily lathered on.

It comes with the conditioner but I only get the shampoo heehee. They also sell the sample sizes.

These are the ingredients, the fresh ginger aroma is rejuvenating without being overwhelming, I love how the scalp becomes clean and gives volume to my hair as well as nothing weighting it down. The hair strands still need some conditioner after the shampooing and I used it with conditioner/mask from other brand and it’s okay.

I really wish the product is available locally or at least more products like these here in Indonesia that take care the scalp, not just a shampoo for dandruff scalp but normal scalp that need a fresh start every single day.

Hello everyone!!!
This is a post dedicated for my sensitive scalp 🙂
Wait, sensitive? Usually people will talk about hair loss, oily scalp, dandruff, etc. Problems that usually occurred on scalp, sensitive? Pffft! It’s not even a problem, or is it?
According to Ms. Muthia Pratiwy, a PR from Kerastase Indonesia, all scalp problem start from a sensitive scalp, then become oily or too dry, which result in hair loss or dandruff. So scalp problem start from . . . sensitive scalp. And treatment for problematic scalp starts from? Tackling the sensitivity and Kerastase has develop 2 items from the Kerastase Specifique. Bain Vital Dermo-Calm and Soin Haute-Tolerance.
Bain Vital Dermo-Calm:
A cleansing Bath for normal to combination hair and sensitive, stressed scalps.
• Hair is soft, supple, light and revitalised.
• Scalp is soothed.
Apply a hazelnut-sized amount of Bain Vital Dermo-Calm to wet hair. Massage into scalp and hair. Rinse and repeat application. Leave in for 2-3 minutes. Rinse out thoroughly.
Complexe Hydra-Destress
• Callophylium oil to cool, calm and soothe irritation.
• Glycerol to moisturise the scalp.
• Piroctone Olamine, an anti-bacterial agent to stop itching.
and Soin Haute-Tolerance as a scalp tonic with  Hydra Stress Complex to take care and keep the scalp soft and smooth. A gentle treatment for scalp with a subtle scent and colorless.
Use after shampooing, apply it over the scalp evenly, massage well and leave it on 1-2 minutes. Add a bit water to emulsify and rinse it well. May be use continually.
I’ve said 2 products correct? And what is Bain Prevention. It’s a shampoo for my next step of hair growing system with Kerastase once the sensitivity is gone.
The problem that I have right now is oily scalp, and everything I did a scalp check in a salon or hair clinic, the machine can tell that I have a very active oil glands and some redness on the scalp. That’s sensitivity.
I’ll review 2 items now, the Bain Vital Dermo-Calm and Soin Haute-Tolerance. Bain Prevention will be review on the next posts (here’s it just a glimpse/sneak peek).
These are the products. I love blue shampoo heehee, the color of clear blue in shampoo is always represent the product that’s comforting and yes, calming.
The Soin Haute-Tolerance is a white lotion. A bit creamy but more to the lotion side.

Bain Vital Dermo-Calm is soothing and I really love the fresh aquatic scent. The effect on the hair is very lovely, at once the tresses relaxes and touch ably smooth and softer than before. On the scalp, the feeling is invigorating, calming and clean at the same time. It’s different and something that everyone should try. Since the scalp feels calmer somehow when usually within a day my scalp already feels to oily gradually the oiliness reduces. There was a time where I have to wash my hair 2x daily, now it becomes 5 times a week, which for me it’s a very good sign of a more resting scalp.

The shampoo doesn’t work instantly reducing the oils. At first, I still have to wash my hair daily, then after a week or so, I noticed my scalp feels clean all day long, when in the past it feels oily after 6 hours. I’m still using this product now.

Soin Haute Tolerance, the white scalp tonic lotion. The lotion feels tingling on the scalp after 2 minutes or so, and then if leave on too long will be a bit itchy. So use it accordingly, which is clean the hair and scalp with shampoo, I’m using it as a pair with Bain Vital Dermo-Calm and then after shampooing and rinsing, applied the lotion (which is a bit runny when wet) on the scalp after dividing my hair per section and apply thin layer on the scalp. Massage them well to make sure an even distribution. Leave it on for 1-2 minutes only. Add a bit of water and emulsify before rinsing everything off.

Continue with my usual conditioner for colored hair on the tresses only.

The scalp feels soothe and calm. I use it 1-2 times week.
These two products (Bain Vital Dermo Calm and Soin Haute Tolerance) work side by side calming the scalp and later on I’ll try to do a scalp diagnostic at saloons such as Anna Wijaya, Irwan Team and other Kerastase representative.

Stay tune @__@

Details from Kiehl’s official website:

Ultimate Thickening Shampoo

This antioxidant enriched shampoo is infused with a blend of thickening polymers, naturally-derived proteins and an Omega-6 essential fatty acid derivative to fortify and texturize thinning hair. Combined with these is a blend of nurturing Vitamin E and Rosemary, Peppermint, and Cedarwood essential oils (for a stimulating sensation on scalp), to create a gentle formula that helps reinforce hair strands for a noticeably thicker, healthy-looking appearance and improved scalp coverage.

I get this product during one of Kiehl’s event, click —> HERE.

Now, every time you buy a Kiehl’s product make sure the shield are there and open it just before you use it. Usually a product can last 12 months after opening.

After I pop it open the first thing was the scent, a minty scent that followed with something woody. It is indeed have peppermint, cedarwood and rosemary. It’s far from something sweet, fruity or floral. This stuff will be unisex. Of course after reading the ingredients I expect something cooling and many beliefs that the scalp need some mint to help clears up the pores and help the new growth hair to emerged.

The shampoo is a white thick kinda creamy gel form and lathering is pleasing and easy. I made sure my scalp get all the goodness and massage them well. Gentle and with some acupressure. Then since my hair is colored I use another shampoo for colored hair for the strands, like half the way down. I left them alone like 2-3 minutes and the peppermint slowly but sure start working up there, providing a cool feeling but unlike menthol that can be too much, the peppermint is mild. Then when I’m rinsing, the refreshing feeling is more obvious.

Clearly I can’t say it made my hair thicker in a wash, so I will use it again and again since the feeling is just wonderful and I realize some may not be a big fan of the scent but many will drool over the minty sensation. It’s like when you have a flu and the whole time your nose been blocked, suddenly inhale some menthol and voila, you can breath again! It’s like that ^__^ that’s how your scalp will be.

Okay and I do have an oily scalp (partially) like on the top part, now it’s like hours after shampooing, my scalp still feels fresh and beneficial for me as well. Somehow it made my hair seems bouncier. But I do recommend a good conditioner and mask perhaps if your hair is processed or really dry.

Would I recommend the product? Definitely!

Especially if you read this info regarding the key ingredients:

Steam distilled from various types of cedarwood, this balsamic oil is known for its gentle astringent properties on oily skin and hair. Soothes and calms skin and is especially beneficial for sensitive skin.
